Time for some more pics. Most of my time has been with the interior, putting the foam layer over the raamat, but I am also figuring out the fuel system at the back. Todd has made a swirl tank for me which I am soon to have, and will take pics of. You will see the cardboard mockup in the pics. I got the larger tank from a very helpful and generous member of this site. I have chosen to use FuelLab stuff - its available with good materials, (and good colors - I know - I'm a *****) and for ethanol. The Black canister is on of the fuel filters, and then it goes into the draw pump, and it will come out of the swirl tank into the higher pressure pump to the engine, and exit out of the rails into the main tank. I may put a cooler in there somewhere.

Also, some work on my dash ideas - (no glove box - smoother transitions) which Paul will be helping me with.

******

I have also decided to not immediately install my 4V motor with the initial project when it gets running *soon*. I would rather blow up the "cheaper" more meaningless 2V motor if I am going to blow something up at all. Todd says if you have a spare motor, you rarely blow the first one. If you have only the one, then....

Anyway, so I coated the pistons, redid the rod bearings, and cleaned it all up. Bought some Euro heads and will make a custom intake for the 2V with some 2" OD runners into a front mount TB. Todd has my A/A intercooler ready to go so I gotta pay him and get that stuff here so I can start mocking that up (and take pics for people like me who LOVE pics).

Some pics of the 2V motor, nothing special. We'll have to see what 30psi and e85 will do with 4.5L and good breathing. Its getting close now, I can smell the ethanol.

In Early June I was hit by a Drunk driver coming home from work. I was in my new, (to me) suburban 2500. I am fine, but the suburban, which I only had since march, is gone. I loved that truck - it was goingt o be for towing this 928 around for work required before it ran - like exhaust, maybe some tube fabbing for the intercooler stuff. I will make do with a cheap 325i I bought two weeks ago. Learning about that car is taking some time.

Some OT pictures of my sub (first one is where I ended up after I was pit-maneuvered by the drunk driver - I was going in the direction of the panel truck)

I decided to use the better motor first and make another 32V in time. 5L 2V will go into race car.

The mess is a distraction for me. I have spent most of my weekends cleaning up the move in mess at the new place.

hey Brendan, you think you'll have that thing built in time to catch the 928's 50 year anniversary?

I know its funny for everyone to continue that joke. But in the span of time I have done this car, I have started three different jobs (of the same industry), moved three times, have a son who has gone from a pink blob to the one I show in pics at age 7, and worked on it when I could. And I spend alot of time with my family. So I get a weekend every once in a while. Maybe a few holidays here and there. And I spend the money required when I can. Sometimes that's not every month.

So... Get off my *** okay Ry?

The engine is basically done. I have work to do with Todd on his intake design and then that will be done, and then its the dreaded wiring.

When I get an extra 10,000 dollars, I can finish it quickly.

Does anyone have any experience using the double heim joint, straight rear upper control arm?

I remember reading in a different thread (thought it was this one) someone reported clearance issues. I'm trying to find that discussion.

I am totally amazed you have perservered. I really enjoy your innovation and can't wait to see the outcome with the engine tuning and hp....can you guesstimate the hp, and what cam grinds did you go for since the car will be at a high psi.

thanks for posting all your pics.\\

Erik,

That was Mike Simard who posted up that it would interfere.

Maybe do a search under his name. Though it might have been posted on Pelican not here.
