Just wanted to post some more pics. Here is my engine block getting Mike Simard's block studs after a thorough cleaning:

True. I got the straight cut gears because they put less stress on the side load of the bearsing in the unit. Its just up and down. Same as all of the larger head units.

How did a writer ever get into this? --- At such a high level of mechanical perfection! Hats off, sir! Can't wait to see the final product.

Thanks.

The original plan was to combine the two vocations: Auto and Writing= Auto Journalism. Then I learned how much they make per year.

But having recently found out how much Jeremy Clarkson makes, it has resurrected my earlier fantasy.

I have some pics I am doing of the engine build. I will update this thread or start a separate engine thread.

Will do. Need to get the other four pistons matched up and I will take some pics. Bores go up or down about 1.5 thousands, so I am trying to match them to any variations in the pistons.

Looks like we will be in all weekend, so come on by. Maybe call first, just to make sure we aren't doing something like a lunch run... 619.709.2882

The engine thread has been started, and I have posted some pics there of the build. I should add some pics here of the bottom bearing assemble I am using for the steering tube and shaft:

It is a 32x20x7 bearing put into some delrin carriers and bushings I had made. Now all of the weak parts of the steering shaft and tube have been removed with this and mike simard's top bearing carrier pieces.

Crank is sold, as is the SC. But I will add more pics as the car comes together to "Keep it all together"

Separate engine thread https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...e+build+thread

Wanted to add some pics - car cover was off and I rolled it out for some work on the rear window. Its moving along well.

Wheels will be black like the previous rear pics. These are just for rolling it around.

New Engine pics in the engine thread.
