I have been searching the site for a larger oil filler mod. I think a few people have done it ( maybe Louie). Any help?
Thanks and Happy Holidays

I am guessing you have the TS? We recently changed mine to the cam cover. I'll see if I can find a picture.

Hi Ralph,
I did use a different oil filler on Jim's car. I think it will work ok. It's from Summit racing. I cut off one of the cam cover breathers and welded this on.

So:

I just got my LM- 1 today as an interim step to the eventual Sharktuning. I am looking for advice on where to install the bung for the 02 sensor. My first inclination is to put it in the other down pipe similar to the location of the existing 02 sensor. I am concerned though, that it would be monitoring more or less only one bank. (Doubtful there would be much reversion)

The next question.....what kind of number am I looking for at WOT. 11.8 - 12.0 ?

The set up I have used to this point is just and ARM guage and I have full BLUE lights under WOT and a good "hunt" at cruise.

Thanks for the help....

Ken-

If you put it on the other downpipe (Like most of us) it's true that you're only looking at 1/2 the engine (5-8 or 1-4), but remember that the each distributor handles 2 cylinders on each bank, so I think it's a non-issue.

As for a number... my goal is to be in the low 12's at WOT like 12.1 ~ 12.3.

Ive got an Xpipe with two bungs. Both are prior to the X and one either side. I made a heat sink out of some sheet copper and sandwiched it between the sensor and the Xpipe. Its about 4"x4" with a hole near the center. Its hangs down a little into the airstream. I am still on my original LM-1 wideband sensor for about 3 yrs now. I should probably buy a new one anyway as i plan on ST'ing soon.

Low 12'3
12-12.4 seems to be the consesnous from my reading.

Ken, You'll probably get alot of opinions, but I placed immediately down stream the X. I wanted to capture readings from both sides after they mixed

And don't forget not to install it on the bottom half of the pipe. It has the potential of getting wet while not running and could cause damage to the sensor.

Default Latest dyno

Looks like Ken's cold air intake and some AFR shark tuning gained me 34 RWHP

You'll see a little flutter toward the high RPM's and I think that's linked to my MAF being maxed out. I'll post my results after I install Tim's MAF donut.

The best run hit 465.60 RWHP and 436.55 RWTQ

The sheet shows the differnces before and after the latest improvements.

The vid link is of the 452.78 rwhp 399.44 rwtq run, I was too busy sitting in the back on my final run.

Enjoy!!

Darien,
What size injectors and what fuel pressure? Congratulations! I'll be in Vegas 3/07-3/09.

Ill have to check my sched but i should be around. Im supposed to head to the sim for the annual *** kicking in march. Its not posted on my sched yet though.

Just to help explain the runs..

BLUE run was with a new intake in the fender with a WAY bigger filter and a Sharktune

RED run was a small filter in the engine bay and stock chips.

nothing else changed. Both runs were in 3rd gear.

SWEEEEEEET !

So ....I just want to follow along here.....this is with fuel optimization with the Sharktuner, but NO ignition changes except the low octane loop plugged together correct?

You also have No knock sensor...correct?

That is just awesome. I see that some dynos will chart an "average HP", which I always thought was the strong suit of the Positive displacement units....do you have that number?

I'm still behind, but will get to the Sharktuning in another month.

Congratualations ! Looks like the filter idea may have helped a little.

Yes, correct, correct and yes

I'm sure I can get the average HP numbers from the guy, but this is the same type graph that I've always received.

Speaking of the new air intake/filter, it's freaking awesome A few things I noticed: You can actually hear the mass amount of air flow while under any boost load. When I installed it, I was running a S-tuned chip from before, and my AFR's leaned way out, which was a sign of gaining more air flow over the original tube and filter.

Great result, Darien :-)

Do you have some pics of the new air intake/filter setup ?
