FYI it's worth shooting some grease or at least WD40 onto the axles of those caster wheels.
i tried putting my car on those things a long time ago and could barely budge the thing - the wheels were sticking.
maybe they've improved in quality since 2006 though.

Thank you! I will keep that in mind. The dolly worked good getting the car into the garage and putting her in the corner.

Finally managed to solve the issue I created when I had the turbocharger rebuilt and modified.
I kept the S1 #6 turbine but since my S1 compressor was shot, I used an S2 compressor and a custom billet compressor wheel. However I did not tighten the backplate to the middle part of the turbocharger and oil went trough, flooding the compressor and making it boost very little and laggy as hell...also big clouds of smoke until the engine cut out since too much oil was being burned.
Anyway, two days of work later, turbo off, inspected, cleaned, tightened and put back in the car.
The car drives amazingly, this billet compressor wheel is fantastic, it builds max boost quicker than the factory unit.
The output is very torquey pretty down low, a blast to drive.
Missed driving this car so much.

Finally got a chance to try out the new winter tires. They worked great - I actually had trouble getting the car to slide when I tried.

2 days ago I put in the Conti radio and replaced the light bulb in the ashtray (because that's the most important feature of the car!).
Yesterday I put the old head unit from the Porsche into my wifes Colt (Mirage). Also noticed that the ashtray and cigar lighter bulbs were dead. Replaced those today cause why not?

Today I changed the wiper switch on the steering column because the washer function was dead and greasing didn't help any more. Clark's garage was a massive help! With zero knowledge and skill I did it in an hour. Nothing broke and it works now. Great day!

Went to go buy a 3rd one, head gasket blew as the guy was letting it idle. Whoops. Left with no 944, coming back to get it later. It's going to be a unique and specific project testbed with a few other friends. Will be coverage later......this one will be interesting.

Drivers door mirror came apart yesterday. Took it apart (RIP Clark) and reinstalled the torx bolt/spring with loctite. Could not release 2 of the wires from the connector and after 2 hours of fussing with them I decided to cut the wires and solder them together and cover with adhesive shrink sleeve. One of the mirror motors squeals but still works OK and as I'm the only driver once it's adjusted it won't get used. Total job took 4 hours.

I picked up a side Project, a 87 944.

The car has some dings, nicks and scratches. The engine is running, but has a few oil leaks, and the water pump is leaking water.

Already hammered out a dent behind the rear wheel.

The interior is worn beyond cleaning and TLC.

Need to find some front seats. The carpet has seen better days. I decided to start on the inside first.

So I just went ahead and got rid of the carpet. Cleaned out the interior.

I had a set of black carpet floating around, which I used.

What a difference it makes

The rear seats look good after I gave them a good scubbing.

While I had the rear side panels out, I checked the speakers and found them dead.

I replaced the old Blaupunkt speakers with a set of Polk Audio I still had.

Cheers
Engelbert

Crashed it, badly. Surely not worth repairing the tub...its the red one
Two idiots overtook on a non overtake section, forced me to leave the road with two wheels, I spun as I was still breaking when left the road surface, held it for a couple of swings but ended up crashing head on with the incoming traffic.
Two people were injured but have left the hospital in a few hours.
I have taken absolutely no damage...well except the loss of the car, years of work, sweat and tears and about 30-35k which I spent with this car since I have it.RIP GTS wannabe

Default Nooooo!!!!

Morghen are you ok? I'm so sorry to hear that. Can you transfer everything to a new tub? Are the two idiots being held accountable?

Wow that's terrible. Dashcam? I would come after them with an honest bill for what their actions cost.
