Idiots just popped out from behind a truck, I had just managed to throw the car to the right and since there was dirt on the side of the road it unbalanced the car immediately, I managed to avoid them and other traffic but as the back end swung wide it needed two lanes and sadly there was someone on one of the lanes.
Guys in the car I stopped into are fine, I drove them to their other car so they can get home as they were not locals and just passing trough.
Nobody saw the two cars number plates that caused me to spin...hoping someone that was there has some footage and will send it out but slim chances. As a result I'll get my license suspended...3months but I can have a test and reduce it to 1month.New shell is an idea but I don't feel like rebuilding right away.
I'm going to strip the car down and sort out the good stuff and get rid of the damaged stuff and if I find a good donor in the future I'll go for it.Meanwhile the 931 is working great so I'm not 924less.

Sorry to hear that morghen!
I've been twice to Transylvania and the people around there have no idea how to drive! It was pretty freakin scary sometimes. OK, maybe not as bad as those russian dash cam compilations but close.

Very nice. These cars were never meant to be summer fun only.

Two idiots overtook on a non overtake section, forced me to leave the road with two wheels, I spun as I was still breaking when left the road surface, held it for a couple of swings but ended up crashing head on with the incoming traffic.
Two people were injured but have left the hospital in a few hours.
I have taken absolutely no damage...well except the loss of the car, years of work, sweat and tears and about 30-35k which I spent with this car since I have it.RIP GTS wannabe
Bummer! Glad you're OK.

Default Installed Double Din Radio

Today I installed a Sony XAV AX100 Double Din Receiver with Apple Car Play. I built the trim to fill in the surrounding area from a part I purchased on-line from WalMart (Car Radio Stereo Double Din Install Trim Ring 1/2" Border ABS Plastic - Black)
My next project will be to cover this trim ring and the rest of the dash trim and center console trim with a red or light gray carbon film, havent decided on the color yet.

Cool, I have the same head unit in the Boxster. One of the few aftermarket stereos that doesn't look like it was designed by meth-addicted killer robots.

Absolutely agree. Very happy with it and it's clean looks. The design is so perfect for the 944 install, that I don't know why more people wouldn't do it.

cuz it's a $400 radio that you can't hear when the 944 is running

it does look clean though.

So sorry that you crashed your car, Morghen...And it's really not your fault..You were the victim in this instance. Will you have to appear before a magistrate, explain things and perhaps retain your license? Were there any traffic cams that might verify your story? Can you file an insurance claim and recover some of your money? Glad that you and the other people were not hurt. Glad to know that you still have a good car for transport..Hope that during your period of non-license, you have someone who can drive you to work.

I finally got around to removing that stupid 'light bar' piece between the taillights on the 951! It already says 'turbo' on the back of the car, so the last thing the car needed was something that also said 'turbo', but in a slightly different font...

Also did the thrust bearing upgrade to the (badly worn) stock shifter. That upgrade should go in EVERY SINGLE 944 on the planet, I swear.

A crashed blue 87 base with 128k miles showed up in my local pull and pay, so I was able to collect a lot of good stuff. The car came out of Houston and crashed here about 3 months ago in Colorado as far as I could tell. I took all of the glass, the heater controls, every interior screw, the cluster sans lens(already gone), the cruise control computer and servo, interior quarter panels, door weather stripping, and a bunch of little bits to make my S2 better. Someone beat me to the inflator, tool kit, dme and broke the script handles being a Neanderthal. All in all a good few days at the yard. The sweet old Blaupunkt that i need to figure out the code for, is a possible retro hifi project for me as this one has 2 8 pin DIN plugs for Preout and CD changer in. This should let me make a custom harness to output to my amp rack in the back, which will handle 3-way crossover duty and the line in should let me do a bluetooth adapter for input from my phone with the old school look.

Ps you can fit a 944 hatch in the back of your 944. This one was not delaminated and the spoiler is not full of little holes.
A sweet vintage blaupunkt

BTW, speaking of putting the hatch glass in a 924/944, you can also put a hood in sideways with the windshield edge of the hood on the passenger side.
