Was the tire pressure real low that will destroy a sidewall? What brand of tire?

Pirelli P6000 215/60r15 and no, pressure was fine. The rear end went out..... quickly.... on the highway, looks like dry rot on tires I use regularly.

Replaced the rear brake flex lines last night and then noticed I should probably replace the fuel pump to fuel filter line before the thing rusts itself out lol...

I did something similar a bit ago, wrote a few notes down here.

tl;dr for the filter to hard lines running to the engine, you can fit AN-6 sizes hose over them quite easily. Removing the crimps is a pain, take care not to mar anything that contacts the hose & obviously use nice clamps. For the pump-to-filter line, there's a few options to build your own, but you can't fit AN-6 hose over those fittings (and yours look like they deserve a rest )

Which is why tires should always be replaced even if they seemingly look good if they are 10 years old or beyond for sure.

Tire Rack people sent a guy to switch the rear two tires on the 87 944S. Turns out they weren't rotted, fine shape other than one exploded so I am keeping the other as a spare.

Back on the road and certified to 120mph if needed :-) Oddly enough the collapsible spare did hold air and seems to work. Time to deflate it and put it back for the next time.....

Probably about 8 years old, the other one is perfectly fine and I replace them in pairs.

And yeah, I am very glad I have autocross/skid pad time. The car lurched hard and fast, it was pretty much an explosive decompression not a nice slow run to flat.
