What did you do to your 924/944 today

Three Wheelin'
Looks awesome. I haven't heard a specific course for that bearing but you can try McMaster-Carr's website - they have a lot of parts like that in different sizes.

This weekendI set the timing adjusted the torsion bars so the passenger side is no longer higher than the drivers side and all four corners are nearly even, rear is about half inch taller than the front. Discovered the battery isn't bad, so I must have a drain somewhere, because it discharges after a few days. Next on the list the driver's side front is worn down on the inside, definitely want to fix before I put some new shoes on it.

Tuned the car after a few days of replacing small parts. New 3 bar FPR seems to have really woken up the car, I mean 5-10 hp after tuning the fuel settings, I guess my old one (less than a year old...non-Bosch) was just a POS or must have already gone bad. I bad-mouth Bosch EFI parts a lot but this time it seems like the money was well spent.

Yellow cadmium zinc plating
I was inspired by some recent posts showing re-plated engine parts and decided to join the club as I currently have half the engine disassembled to do the oil pan gasket.
No special prep before dropping off, just reasonably clean.
Two hours of sorting, measuring, and labelling. ~14 pages with photos like this.
$200 CDN later....Picked-up today - all mixed together. I tried to arrange by size.
I'm extremely happy with how this turned out.
Surfaces that had rust show pock-marks (dip stick tube), but greatly improved appearance nonetheless. Looks like I left an o-ring on there.
Re-sorting using paper, measurements, and original photos.

Although you can your own rig for pretty cheap using a $10 zinc anode and a power supply from something like like a wireless router. Under $70 all in. Going to be doing that for a lot of small parts soon.

Wow, nice work! that's going to look awesome when it's all back together.

I just called to verify what they used on this - this is yellow zinc. They are grandfathered to do cadmium plating though.
He said that cadmium plating has a duller, less smooth surface finish, but that it lasts longer.
Although not original, I'm okay with zinc over cadmium due to cadmium's heath risks.

What did I do with my 944 today?
I got in it to drive to work on a 60 degree warm winter day. And...click, click, bzzzz!
No driving for two weeks. very cold temps. Not on the battery tender. Not enough CCA.
Maybe tomorrow, if the battery will respond to tending overnight.

Had two beers in it while listening to the radio and reading trough 10.000 pages of engine management set up and wiring manuals.
