Painted a pair of recently acquired 6 bladed fans and their housing today. Looks great..Hope the wifey doesn't find out that I painted them on the back porch and then brought them inside to warm back up...Tough doing a rattle can job in cold weather and having it come out good. So I kept the parts inside for a couple of days..took them out on the unheated back porch, shot the paint and brought them back inside before the parts and the paint had a chance to cool down too much.

Default Off and runnin

After nearly a year of repairing and upgrading my barn find, Casper is finally off the stands and out for a test run. Holy Crap this thing is fast. Still got some body clean up and suspension upgrades before the Martini race graphics go on. But this was a milestone. Being squished into the seat back when the boost comes on is euphoric. It was definitely worth the time I spent on it.

Looking good, I like the 951 in white. I like your intercooler pipes, who makes them?

I know, I know!!!! You've created the first ever Porsche V4!!!!!

Where did you fit the 18 HP B&S motor to drive the valve train? Cause I know the 4 wouldn't have the umph to run both cams on it's own!!! LMAO...

Do you have a project thread I missed, or is this a super secret project?

no thread, might do one later though.

doing 16v swap, but using 928S3 head instead of 944S head. 928S3 has larger combustion chamber than 944S (56cc vs 42cc) so it wont change the compression ratio with the 951 pistons (8:1). 944S on 951 pistons makes over 9:1.

I haven't seen you talk much about your own car, but I'm guessing you have a turbo? Or are building one?

NM, I logged into the computer so I could see your avatar. The nose gives it away.

I replaced my transaxle fluid this morning.
It was it's first change since I've had it for a year and a half.
I have no idea of the age of the stuff that was in there but it had a bit of black color.
No chunks of gears in it so that is good.

Default No more battery drain!!

Turns out my car has no electrical gremlins (knocking on wood)! Turns out my battery was bad for the past 4-5 months and couldn't hold a charge whatsoever. I always had to leave it on trickle charge; and that stopped working eventually. So a new warranty battery later, and the cars starting and holding charge just like new!!

Good deal. My battery is getting fickle. It is three years old and will want a trickle charge if not run for two or more weeks. Suspecting that the stereo drains to keep its settings.

What did I do? I drove like the proverbial Meatloaf bat out of Hell down to Denver to check out a 2008 Cayman S. It had just sold.... 😠

So I boogied back home on the highway. Never hit 95 with snow tires, before.

I learned about it battery tray drainage problem. My PO was a kid who had to park outside. Tons of old leaves and pine needles down on the floor of the battery area. It wasn't draining at all and had about a pint of muddy water in there.

Hot water, grease cutter and elbow grease got the channel clear. Took the initiative to clean the main ground. Hopefully that will be a good thing.

Also laid out the wiring for the lighting harness relay run. Needs some modifications. Do I need to take the air box off to run a wire from the alternator? Couldn't I just run from the positive terminal, where the alternator already terminates?

Looking good Spencer. Is this the motor that you are using the VEMS on?
