I've only got 64k miles on it. Is there an option to replace only the brownish/orangeish colored seals and not the sleeves? Thanks.
Yes, the sleeves can be reused if they're not damaged. I ordered the sleeves just in case and ended up needing them, but if your sleeves aren't worn or grooved, then you should be fine only replacing the seals.
for a few years i've been running a one-off MAF setup.
I have the MAF housing from the Rogue "S" maf kit (that hasn't yet been released for general consumption) but running with a modified version of the NA-tune software (to account for the larger MAF flow area and my larger injectors).
Since that "S" housing was never meant to bolt to an NA airbox I had mounted a small cone filter onto the MAF and put that inside a modified (chopped up) NA airbox, and it looked pretty much stock. the filter was hanging right off the end of the MAF. this is the setup i most recently dyno'd my car at, at 136whp/140wtq.
now I've decided to ditch the airbox and go for a larger filter and a big velocity stack/bellmouth in the filter, to see if there's anything to be found there, powerwise. it already feels awesome, it seems to rev and run better, less hesitation, i suspect because of the longer length of straight pipe before the MAF sensor so it is just reading better. but driving around it does feel good, and the sound is amazing.
only time (and the dyno) will tell.
(looking at my setup, something i'd like to try down the road when a) i've deleted the stock headlight motor and b) converted to EDIS ignition would be to put the air intake in the front RH corner so that air makes a single 45* bend from filter/MAF into the throttle, in front of the camshaft housing, rather than this 45 and 135 nonsense as stock...or maybe a gentle 45 past the hood latch with a big filter in the nose...but that's in the someday file)
Upcoming Saturday is going to be relocating license plate and LED plate lighting to bumper, to fit early lighted center reflector unit.
Need to add unswitched subsidiary fuse box to passenger compartment and run lines for map lights in aftermarket rearview mirror, Valentine 1, USB power, etc.
Oh, yeah: I still have intermittent full heat, which sometimes resolves by flipping the AC on. Really hoping that it isn't the heater control valve. My hands don't fit back there.
The other day I removed my old AC compressor and began working on installing my new one
Modified AC lines to fit my new compressor
If you look close you can see the small hole in the line going from the compressor to the condenser that all my R12 probably leaked out of
Still left to go: new receiver/drier, replace a few orings, charge the system, and check for leaks. My AC project has been put on hold because my left rear caliper locked up on me so I'm rebuilding all 4 calipers AGAIN While they're apart I'm getting them powder coated because the paint I used is flaking off and looks like ****.

before you proceed too far..
what brand is that compressor?
is it Keuhl/Sanden, or is it a "Sanden Style"?
I installed one of those kits with a "Sanden Style" unit made by another company and the compressor failed in under a year.

It's the AC kit from 944 Online, so it's a Kuel compressor (says so right on the side). It's too late now to send it back so I'm just gonna risk it and hope for the best.
Today, I did a VIN check and found out that my once thought to be three-owner '84 might potentially be a 5-8 owner car(7 titles and 1 duplication), myself included....
I'm not really concerned about it, but it raises many questions for me now. I thought it was an Ohio car originally, as it turns out, it's been living in my local area since I was at least ONE year old and moved around quite a lot.
My peeps: what is the best power line to chain six new low-amperage bulbs from, at the aft end of the 944?
I spliced the red line and ground from the towing harness (but was too lazy to check it with an ohmeter). I didn't get power from the red. Need to power the 924 reflector (because they are cool) and LED license place lights, since the plate now resides on the bumper.
All of the wires like individual brake bulbs and license plate bulb holders are so small gauge, I don't want to tap them. And I can't get solder to adhere to the connectors.
