Finished replacing the sunroof gears today.

Everything that could be wrong with the system was wrong. Arms were out of time, clutch was just about locked down solid, and the micro switches were out of position and loose.

Loosened clutch all the way (had to grind down a spare 13mm open end wrench to get to the clutch friction nut under the lock nut), adjusted and tightened the micro switches, new gears in place with plenty of synthetic grease. Placed the arms in gear housing (center of tooth 3# on arm is right at forward edge of housing), and then had assistant activate switch to attempt to lift roof. Kept tightening clutch nut until the roof would actually rise, had to tighten about another 1/8-1/4 turn in order for clutch to fully engage until the upper limit micro switch would trip, then tightened a tad more and locked in position.

Absolutely flawless operation throughout now, and with the clutch properly adjusted I shouldn't have an issue with gears stripping again.

I love it when a plan comes together.

Default Completed my LS6 Conversio

I've finally completed my LS6 conversion and am preparing for the final tune.

Specs,

2002 LS6 Block, Ported 806 heads
LS6 Intake with 226/229 575/578 116 LSA Cam, 30 Lb Injectors
85mm Professional Products MAF with ZO6 FIPK Filter
968 6 Speed Transmission
Centerforce Racing PP + Clutch
Corvette C5 exhaust modified to fit 944, 3" Magnaflow with no cats
EFI Live PCM software

I started the conversion last October, I purchased a used long block and had the bottom end rebuilt, I ported the heads myself and built up the rest of the motor that was installed in April.

The amount of Torque and HP these motors put down is unbelievable, driving the car without traction control is an art. The 11" clutch is effortless and smooth and requires very little work to engage, I still breaking the motor in so I haven't driven the car beyond 3K RPM, I'm expecting around 400rwp after the dyno tuning session.

Took out the aluminium spacers between drivers seat and top rail, to give more knee/steering wheel clearance. Cheaper than bucket seats

Nice work on the LS. Got to be a monster with all that.

I did go get the new Porsche mats and the hood liners. The mats have to be exchanged for the gray ones. Next up is new headlights.

Not as much as I should have worked on the car. But I did drive 200 miles talking to shops that I might need to work on this car or a race car or both. And I installed my fancy Porsche license plate frame.

I drilled out the aft AC compressor bolt, since it sheared off. I was able to do it without disconnecting any of the refrigerant lines. Having it soaked in Kroil for a week made the job much easier.

Removed sound deadening glue from rear wheel arches (used paint thinner). Removed side mouldings, used the ol' eraser wheel to remove the glue. One side perfect (the good side of the car) - one side not so good, couple of spots of missing paint. Some point it'll be time to do that side over - there's a ding in front of the left rear wheel and a few chips that could do with a spray over too.

Had a crazy idea - volvo v70 flush-mounted exterior door handles. Took a template off the volvo, laid it over the 944 handle and it covers the whole thing.

I replaced a globe in my fog lights. Got my eraser wheel out and removed one of the stone guards(almost completely) till battery went flat on drill. Washed her and polished my wheels. I also tried to fix door stop problem I have but it's turned into a major PIA to fix(see my thread).

Pormgb- the quality of work on the swap looks awesome. Respect
