Thanks for the tip. But it wasn't the O2 sensor port. It was the long tube that rises to the engine bay and is capped. That broke (rust at the bottom). I actually had to change the O2 sensor tho, I was running rich.

I changed the hinge on centre console, replaced instrument cluster surround, and fitted the carbon fibre gear shift trim I made(mark I)

I am really happy with how it looks in the car, but am going to make another one, as learnt a few things making this one, and will get second one perfect

peace

Yes, the tube is what I'm talking about as well; there is a welded bung it attaches to next to the O2 sensor that has the same thread as a lug nut.

I was wondering who would comment on my bear. He's my good luck charm, and he has done his job well so far

Default Crack 'n' Crumble Throttle Linkage

Oops! While disassembling the throttle linkage in preparation for re-plating the metal bits, I discovered a cracked bushing and the plastic sleeve around which the longer spring goes disintegrated...

Does anyone know where to get these parts without buying a whole new Throttle body?

Hmmm... I don't know if Ian carries 968 parts. I'll give him an eShout tomorrow. Worst he can say is "no".

Finally installed my newly painted exhaust on my car. I realized the quickest way to do a V8 swap is just to leave the headers on, never pop the hood, and tell everyone it's a 350.

Blew the dust off Jake and drove from my home in the Wilkes-Barre - Scranton area to Warren, NJ for work. It's the first time he's really been out of the garage since October.

I was originally going to take Finn (the Cayenne), but my wife pointed out that he gets really abominable mileage, and offered her Mazda3. I opted to take Jake and my wife pointed out that it was raining and Porsches don't go out in the rain.

"He's not going to melt!" I said, and away I went.

I forgot how much I love that car. It is everything a sportscar should be. We're lucky that kids these days don't know how great these cars are or how cheap they are to acquire. Even if you don't have any wrenching ability yourself (I don't), you can get into one for just a few thousand and a decent mechanic can keep them running for less than the price of the payment on a modern 'sports coupe' that won't hold a candle to these twenty to thirty year-old cars.
