Went to WalMart today to buy a couple of 5qt jugs of Mobil1 15w-50, as I have for ten years or so... None... nada... WalMart guy said they don't carry it anymore. The only 15w-50 synthetic oil I saw was WalMart's house brand... NOT IN MY PORSCHE!! So... anyone know where to get Mobil1 15w-50 high-performance synthetic motor oil?

We carry it at Advance Auto Parts. I just noticed that you're in CA and we have...3 stores in that state LoL.

Yeah... Auto stores carry it... usually at exorbitant prices. Something close to what I used to pay at WalMart... <$30 for a 5qt jug.

Yesterday I had my 2nd door bar installed. Before that I put on my repaired head. Next weekend time for my first race in a long time.

Put the final coat of black paint on my headers, hanging in the garage, ready to be installed tomorrow.

I fitted a console lid that I think is from a 968, as it's slightly different to the one it replaced(angle at front). This has been a pain to find as I have a 952(RHD), and even my local wreckers(dismantlers ?) only have LHD units. I had to get mine from UK. Its in great condition but hinge is split a little, so will get a hinge replacement kit to sort that.

peace

BTW love those 996 seats. They look awesome

It's pretty straightforward, but if you want a closer look at it, I have it in my Reutterwerk thread:
