Agree. Another great feature is to enable the MAP in the cluster. Very handy when you drive on unfamiliar roads or Canyon carving. You have the MAP layout in your line of sight.

Or AT&T goes down across several major cities in the US? Oh wait...
I will agree that the built in nav is not great, it looks severely outdated and it doesn't like to re-route once you've started your trip, but at least it works, and like Westcoast says, it's a built-in feature that's good to have as a backup (and frankly should have been free from the factory).
As an aside, I like the hidden features that are now available through GEM, like the ability to rip discs straight to the internal storage, although I haven't tried it myself yet. The AIO method enables most features already, but are there any other little features that people would recommend using/enabling?

I guess I should have clarified by saying "if you already have nav" why bother updating if you've also got CP or AA.
I have zero intention of using any cars built in nav ever again!

Most of those points are solved by downloading the maps so they're available offline! 😉

I did it the other day without issue. You unpack the files onto a FAT32 formatted SD card, stick it into the left slot, then browse to the Software Update screen in the PCM (not through GEM). I forget where it is exactly but it's somewhere under Car.

Oh? Any specific reason why not? Granted I know it's not exactly legal in most areas...

Thanks again for the help. It turned out my problem was with the file: P376_N60S5MIBH3_NAR_NT_Q3.23_2024-2025_02310036 FULL.zip on https://mibsolution.one/#/1/15/MHIG%20-%20MHI2(Q). There seems to be some issues with that zip file. I went back to an older version and it works. BTW, you were correct, the Software Update Screen is under "Car"
Did you get it is work? what was the problem you noticed?

No I did not get that one to work. version 336 works. I am downloading version 370 now and will see if that works. There seems to be some issue with the compression of the zip file with version 376.

Not sure what P370 is, I know that it is in the 'map section' but beyond that the file name leaves me wondering?

Also, how does using MIB/AIO differ from the commercially offered services by some Rennlist sponsors. Are they just doing the packaging prep work and provide live installation support?
PS: My apologies if I repeat some previously answered questions, but after spending an hour reading the beginning of this thread and noticing several dead links to the mibwiki, I figured I would catch up on the last few posts and then ask my yet unanswered questions.

So that means that none of the MY 718 will be updatable, Android Auto "enablable" with AIO until there is a newer version available? I was kind of hoping to get Android Auto enabled in my GT4RS when I pick it up in Stuttgart later this spring before heading into the alps.
