How about this: Genuine Porsche 9P3-979-001 |Connecting Line | FREE Shipping on Most Orders $499+ OEMG! | GetPorscheSilverSpringParts
I'm in Canada too, $54 shipping is a bit much, lol.

How about asking your local Porsche dealer parts guy?

I am. Thanks for pointing out that the cable itself is incorrect! I guess LVDS must be twisted pair? Looks like a trip to the Dealer . I edited my previous post to avoid confusion.

Not sure of it internal construction, just that it is designed for LVDS operation, further the correct cable has the appropriate ends for your application, there can be many different connectors on a LVDS type cable, examples below:

I gave up trying to find a cheap generic, I was never sure it would work and since this modification is so cheap relative to the factory nav cost I just ordered from my dealer, and it only took a week for it to arrive. Several online Porsche sites said it would be several weeks. Sometimes a bargain isn't worth it.

I just ordered my Lvds cable this morning from one of the online Porsche dealership sites that I’ve gotten a few other things. Was ~$50 shipped then they said it will ship from Germany in 3-4 weeks and added $20 more for shipping.

I ordered mine from the dealer. Original ETA was 2-3 weeks. I got it within a week.

FWIW, my friend also activated Nav on his 2019 Cayman using AIO method. His car is equipped with Apple Carplay which was an option in 2019. His car has the GPS antenna and 2019 Map database installed from the factory.

@718socal remotely got my cluster showing maps and fixed my autotime issue. I’m running the latest AIO everything is working perfect. This is what forums are supposed to be; strangers helping strangers. 👏🏻

Yep, only 718socal is no longer a stranger. I can't recommend him enough.

Just completed the AIO based update on my '18 718S that didn't have NAV. FWIW, my car had the GPS antenna already installed. Here is the build sheet - I suspect the GPS antenna was from Porsche Connect but can't be sure. Now getting ready to update maps and have ordered the LVDS cable. Super effort from everyone involved!

I'm not that familiar with the standard equipment on the S since I got the GTS, but if you have CarPlay then I think that is the reason for the antenna, maybe Connect is mostly the same thing. But yeah, this group is amazing in all the help they give and how everyone is willing to share and help out.

Don't have Carplay as a discrete option, but it was enabled before the update and Connect includes the "Phone Compartment" with the antenna amplifier. Understatement to note that I am very happy with the results of this update, and I did donate to the curator of the MIB site.
