Anyway, just one data point among many that peak 981/982 GT/GTS was last summer.

Here is a GT4 that went RNM and $12K below MSRP.

What was wrong with this one.
Recent Spyder failed to reach $100K.
I dunno…looks like it sliding.

Based on all of this, I would guess that if the seller had treated the auction the way he needed to, this car would have easily sold for over MSRP as it seemed like a pretty desirable spec based on comments. This tells me that it was more seller issue rather than the market really softening like people are hoping.

Never said that you cant have a bright colored GTS, but why choose GTS over GT4/Spyder unless you want less attention? The price difference is not that big if ADM is taken out of the equation. No wing, less aggressive styling, yet the same engine.

Also the GTS isn't just about "attention", it's more livable. I would probably deal with the "unlivability" though if I was in a better climate where the roof wasn't such an issue. For me that's the biggest dealbreaker, but the ADM pushed it to the nonsensical realm.

One need look no further than the Marketplace to see that the used market has softened. None of the high priced GT4s or Spyders are selling, even after the sellers have knocked $15-30k off their ridiculous asking prices. There are lots of hooks in the water, but the fish just aren’t biting, and every day the stock market goes down and rates go up, the used market will just fall further. The question isn’t whether the market has softened, it’s what is the likelihood of a recovery in the Spring if we’re moving into a full blown recession. Will spring fever drive the market back up in the face of a weakening economy.

It's observationally interesting how asset holders in a declining market get so wrapped up in denialism that they start resembling the band that continued to play on the Titanic as it sank. That's not limited to cars or even this forum but certainly doesn't seem immune. There was an asset bubble that took prices on everything from lumber to NFTs beyond what they would be in a normal environment and now it's rapidly deflating. How that's supportive of ADMs that were set at the height of the market for series production cars is beyond me. Buy the cars, drive it, enjoy it and if you're worried about what a whopping 10-20% depreciation has on your personal finances, you shouldn't have bought it but we all make mistakes.

There’s not a lot of difference between a Cayman GTS 4.0 and a GT4; same chassis, less aggressive styling, no wing, slightly softer suspension. Even PDK is available on both models now. For a Boxster GTS 4.0 and Spyder it’s a different story due to automated roof. If there was no ADM premium for GT4/Spyders I’m pretty sure 80% of the Cayman GTS 4.0 buyers would prefer the GT4 over GTS 4.0. Let’s be real here.
The whole point to (build philosophy behind) the GTS 4.0 is to blend in rather than to stick out in my opinion.
