Not a terrible build but not great either imo; 14 ways and Navigation, really? . I wonder if Dealers make more for less desirable or redundant options.

Note, this is a 6 speed that failed to crack $100K
This example has very low options as well. Spyder owners/buyers are probably looking for more plush, luxurious options compared to GT4 owners/buyers. Plus winter time is not doing convertibles any favors.

I think the most interesting thing to me about the Porsche car market is how much the options can actually sway the selling power. I think there are plenty of people out there who will do a "peasant" spec and expect to get a full return on their money when they sell the car. But from what I've seen, most are sold at a loss or just take forever to sell.

Then there are the incredibly nice specced ones, PCCB, LWBS, Full Leather interior etc. that seem to just be massivly overpriced. I think I saw one where it was close to a 130k MSRP being listed at a dealer for about 170k. Hell there was one that was listed for 190k not too long ago. its not up anymore which means either it actually sold, or that price was just there as a placeholder so someone at the dealership could buy it.

While I don't plan on ever selling my GT4 (but who knows what the future brings), I also do not expect to get all my money back. I have a decent spec (126k MSRP) which I think should do decent on the market if I ever need to let go of the car.

Agree. I think the used market for GT4s/Spyders has clearly come down (as with the rest of the used car market). But, for folks that get an allocation and can spec the car just the way they want, there is still a premium for that (aka ADM). At least here in CA.

Yes, I think the GT4 vs. Spyder market is different from a spec perspective. For me, my Spyder is a daily (likely never track it), so I got the sofas, steel brakes, leather, manual, etc... The GT4s for the track spec the opposite.

yeah, not that people who have Spyder wouldn't track their cars but you can definitely see the difference in buyer preference between the two.

Porsche North Austin has a Spyder available. It is a mid-spec car with a manual tranny so the MSRP isn't too bad at $114,900. I'll leave it to you to ask about any ADM. Interestingly, it has the carbon buckets. It has 23 miles on it at the moment.

You can get more info here:

Porsche Riverside has a GT Silver 21 GT4 with 5k miles listed for $123k with CPO but after contacting them, the price is now $129k. $123k MSRP with PDK, buckets, PCCBs, etc. Still not a bad deal. But buyer beware, it looks like it was a PCNA car since the CarFax shows it was never sold by a dealer and had a windshield replaced by Circle Porsche at 250 miles, which is close to the LA experience center.

They are advertising a price lower than what they're willing to sell at? Isn't that illegal or at very least, morally repugnant?

Many car sites auto populate with MSRP when entering inventory.

This is not unique to Porsche.

Many of the cars are not even available as they are sold inventory.

Their autogroup's website shows the $129k mark. Could be a delay on their website or they updated it after a lot of inquiries.

The price was $500 below MSRP, so it had to be manually entered.

Because he won’t pay more than $5k over MSRP for a new spec. Seems like he will be waiting quite a while.
