The chance of getting a used GT4 at MSRP next year is very high.

In that scenario, I might prefer keeping my eyes peeled for a used gt4 at/close to msrp and enjoying it today.
If you are not that picky when it comes to colors or options, my suggestion would be to find a low mileage car that comes with the additional two years of Porsche certified preowned warranty and probably has PPF and some other goodies already on it. I've seen vehicles that meet this description going for not much over MSRP lately.

I got one of those a couple of months ago. If I had ordered it and done the PPF that it has and extended the warranty as it has, it would have been 10k more than I paid assuming no ADM. With a 15k ADM, I would have waited many months and been down 25k, As it is, I got it immediately, and paid less than if I had gotten an MSRP allocation. The only downside I paid was the 4k miles on the car which was not worth 25k to me given that I will pile the miles on if it goes as I expect. I already put miles on at 3x the rate of the previous owner. Car is perfect, as new as can be. There is a huge variability in dealers willingness to negotiate right now. Some are confident and some are panicked. I shopped all over the US and think there were dealers that would have refused to budge at 25k more than I paid based on other cars I tried to buy.

If you absolutely have to have a specific PTS color or some CXX or something, and are keeping the car forever, it makes a lot more sense to me to pay up to customize and wait. But that is not me. I love this set of options and colors, and may not keep it. Maybe I will. I don't know. But if I don't keep it, I'll be very happy that I bought it as I did. I already am happy about that because I have it now instead of later, and have all of the spare cash in the bank.

My hope is that used car prices have or will come down to a level that it is no longer profitable for flippers to flip after tax and fees. Then they will naturally fall off the waitlists when their names are called and will allow the allocations to flow down to true buyers. I was #7 on the Spyder waitlist @msrp as of April. I am going to check w/ my SA tmw to see where I stand. I don't anticipate a whole lot of movement but hopefully that will change over the next six months

This beauty sold for $163,500. $30k over MSRP when you include auction fees. The car itself was simply gorgeous! Congrats to the new owner and I hope it actually gets driven now lol!

Maybe that's why they still have it. What makes you say poorly optioned? No PCCB's? No LWB's? PDK?

In my opinion it's the fact that for 155k the only special thing you're getting is a pts color that is hit or miss for most folks and for me, a miss.

Arctic grey is not even a PTS tho right? It's a $3500 option I thought.
