Following the Marketplace ads it’s clear to see that a) the market is falling quickly and b) sellers are still largely delusional with their initial asking prices, given the large reductions and lack of sales.

Ggod deal? There’s a guy on the Marketplace trying to sell a fully configurable allocation and he’s getting crickets. Price now down to $3,500 and it’s still unsold. ADM on a GTS right now seems nuts, particularly on a dealer build car you didn’t spec.

You mean the guy who people are giving **** to for that shady FS thread? Yeah, this isn't that. This is a solid deal, especially in CA.

I don't think there's lots of takers where I'm from at $5k for a non-configurable allocation but I'm sure there are some particularly supply-deprived areas where that may not be the case. I'd just be ready to get hammered on resale if paying an ADM on a 'regular' production car as the guy who recently tried to sell a GTS on BAT found out.

Personally I would have bought it if I had that FOMO attitude, and wasn't anywhere near being able to get the GT4 I wanted. I only know of it because I thought it would be something my parents would like. Essentially fully loaded with sofas, PDK, and standard brakes. Unfortunately (or fortunately) for them, too high interest rate plus they can't comprehend spending 100K plus on a car, despite having the ability to do so.

How can a dealership be cool with a customer selling a spot in line???
I had an allocation for a 992 GTS at MSRP back in July, I just let it go. Didn't even think of trying to capitalize on something that was just an "opportunity" to buy a car.
I guess that's why I'm not rich. And I'm ok with that.

Just noticed Minneapolis Porsche has a Cayman GTS for sale:

I have no idea what they are asking for it.

But, context is important. Compared to probably many on these boards, that's poverty level. I "make a good living", and don't consider myself rich by any means. There's different levels of wealth, and I know I'm just scratching the surface... even though I'm probably within the top 5% of earners in the country. Which is ridiculous.
As Chris Rock so eloquently explained, "Shaq is rich. The white man that signs Shaq's check, he's wealthy".
(In my case the racial element can be excluded from the socioeconomic point I'm trying to make)

Agreed, I do not disagree, and do not take anything for granted. I'm actually the "rich uncle" in my family despite "only" clocking in let's just say well under $500k/yr (I suppose it's faux pas to reveal true income amongst strangers although I don't really care all that much). I certainly did not come from money and know how the other half live.
