Better cars at cheaper price , example BMW Z4 M40I in manual transmission , need i say more?

ZL1 is a sweet car.

I just got this Shelby in Nov. I can't wait for the warm weather to drive it without the cold tires just spinning like they're on ice. And that's brand new Michelins. 662hp and 632ft/lbs in a manual is NUTS! Crazier feeling car than even my FFR Cobra was.

It’s funny because I really don’t want to go back, be it for multiple reasons.
Most likely due to my age, I suppose… but there’s something about the raw torque of a muscle car that cannot be defined and that feeling is hard to duplicate.

I think I’m going to join the muscle car forums and do a little trollin’….. sorry for the sidetrack everyone, I just don’t understand why people spend time on forums for products they don’t like and / or won’t buy.

Its not about liking the product , Porsche makes great cars and i would love to own them otherwise i would not have been in this forums but the point is why are Porsche owners so snobish as if there are no other cars in the planet, do you think these GT4/GTS/SPyders are worth over 100K , absolutely not for what it brings to the table , forget about used car pricing. There are other great sports cars which are equally comparable at cheaper prices . No wonder this has pushed the demand so high that the dealers are charging ridiculous prices on used porsches , Fyi all cars depreciate... cars are depreciating assets !!!

Prices of GTS Boxsters seem to be coming down at least for the 2021 and 2022 model years on Car Gurus. I paid 100k last year for a 2022 Boxster 25 with on original MSRP of 108k.
This 2023 is priced ambitiously but the color combination looks very intriguing to me. The two tone brown interior looks very nice.

I agree with your assessment. Cars are also sitting on the lots longer. Be patient and don’t be afraid to look in fly-over country. I picked up a CPO 2021 CGTS 4.0 for under 100k. Sat on the lot for 3 months in Midwest. Although it’s crazy to see new or barely new 718S going for $100k and more.

Is this a joke? As a former owner of Z3M, Z4M, E46 M3, E92 M3, 2 E82s, and current owner of an X3, F30, and F87 M2, no BMW comes close to the driving dynamics of Boxster/Cayman. My M2, which is a fantastically fun car, feels like a truck compared to my GT4.

You seem to only be compelled by horsepower per dollar, in which case, Porsche is not the brand for you.

Even i had a F87 M2C which was great but it's a sports coupe and not a 2 seater sports car so wrong comparison. Have driven a manual GT4 couple of times and recently drove the G29 Z4 auto and it was great . If your head is set on a porsche nothing else will appeal to you

Ignore Boss2k, he's been on the sidelines for the past 4 years twiddling his thumbs dreaming about owning a Porsche. While the rest of us own the car and enjoy it.

Better lucky than good any day. Just signed a deal for this baby:

2021 BGTS 4.0 manual

I still want to see if I can get an allocation for a 2024, but at least now I found a manual to trade for my '22 PDK. Interesting aside, I tried last night to buy a '23 BGTS 4.0 manual, but it turns out it already was sold. I realize its 2 years newer with almost zero miles, but personally I think the $12k lower sticker is a steal.

Sorry, matt0520, I agree we should move on but can't help myself....

boss2k, do you even own a Porsche or are you just upset they demand so much money?

I'm not saying the Z4 is a crap car, I'm sure it's a great GT car but no one in the history of time has ever put any BMW Z-car on the same level as its contemporary mid-engine Porsche. Heavy front-engine cars with 3 series underpinnings are never going to deliver the driving dynamic of a purpose built mid-engined sports car.

Here is what C&D had to say about the G29 Z4 M40i auto you recently drove:
"We have to concede that the automatic better aligns with the Z4's zeitgeist, which is more akin to a flashy high-speed tourer like the Mercedes-Benz SL than to a purist sports car such as the Porsche Boxster."
"On staggered-size Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires, our Z4 M40i clung to the skidpad with a resolute 1.00 g of grip, but with muted steering and a curb weight of 3636 pounds, it feels more steadfast than playful. The Z4's Toyota Supra counterpart is the more serious sports car."

And, looking at the numbers, a 6MT GT4 is faster in a straight line (outside of 0-60) than the Z4 M40i:

2023 Z4 M40i Auto:

2020 GT4 6MT:

The GT4 is nearly 500 less lbs, quicker to 100, quicker in the 1/4 mile with a higher trap speed, quicker by 2 full seconds by the time they get to 150 mph, stops better and pulls 1.10 to the 1.00 of the Z4. And nevermind how the car feels doing all of this. No comparison if we're talking about which is the better and more pure sports car/driver's car. C'mon, man.

If I were in the market for a stylish and luxurious sporty GT car I would buy a Lexus LC500 over a Z4 M40i all day long.
