If I’m to change any component of a car, it needs to be something superior than OEM; and there lies the ‘value’ which is something subjective.

Really never had too much issue with the tone of the car, but volume was way too muted for me. Most stainless steel systems weigh just as much as the OEM system so it makes no sense to drop $4k+ to change ‘the tone’ that I’m fine with. Anything that is titanium or inconel costs north of $6k. Also, most aftermarket systems do disrupt the airflow as it creates an opening around the diffuser.

So this leaves only Akrapovic system which is designed similar to OE setup, saves weight but costs about $6-7k new. From the few available videos online it sounded like Akrapovic has a deeper and raspier sound, which I’m not 100% a fan of to be honest. Need to find someone in SoCal with the system and listen to it.

As I’m not in Europe, and therefore no need to comply with strict emissions, the best bang for buck was getting the Akrapovic OAPs. Adding a valve controller gives me best of both worlds in terms of volume as well.

Would love to replace the OE tips with something that looks better but Weissach tips cost an absurd $3k, JCR tips cost around $1k and while Akrapovic costs about $1k as well they do not fit OE muffler unfortunately.

I've posted this before but it's worth repeating for newcomers if our helps them.

I was at a cars and coffee where we lined up 3 cars, a GT4 with Ack OAP pipes and cargraphic controller, vs a spyder and Boxster both with full exhausts (I don't know which brands, sorry). We revved them both, idled them, etc. Two of us thought my friend's GT4 sounded BETTER than the full systems. Maybe that's subjective, but it was enough for me to immediately place my order for flat-6 OAP and cargraphic controller. VERY happy with sound and adjustability. People often ask me what exhaust system I have because it sounds that good. YMMV.

Default VIN etching

Used this to put my VIN on my windshield and both side windows. Everything I've ever read says having my VIN etched on the windows makes the car less of a target for theft because of the hassle and expense of having to replace the glass. Easy to use (once I figured it out--they give you a small piece of glass to practice on, strongly recommend you do!) and the result looks great. Takes a little less than 10 min per window. Here's a partial VIN to give you an idea. $31.90 shipped for enough supplies to do 8 windows plus a certificate you can share with your insurance company that might get you a discount. I got the medium, but wish I'd gotten the large font. Bought at instaetch.com, DIY kit.

I got LWB seat brackets for a little extra recline, Seats feel great normally, but with a helmet on there's a little too much forward tilt. We'll see,,,,
Also, a Rennline exact fit phone mount. Don't have Nav or CarPlay. Need to be able to look at phone for navigation.

Interesting, does it need an integration module or gateway to work with the Porsche back end, will the Porsche CAR information display on it or is this a complete standalone system?

BTW, your text in this post is very dim/light almost unreadable, did you set to colour that way?

It's an entire replacement unit, not integrated into / on instrument cluster.

So you'll lose the entire functionality of PCM?

Hi gents, could you please shed some light on the fuse box wiring for the FitcamX?
I saw your post and really liked the OEM style look but I'm having a hard time figuring out how to do the wiring for the 718 GT4.
Thanks.

I was gonna start a new thread on Fitcamx (front & rear 4k model) because I have their model C and will be documenting the install when I do it.

I mounted the front CAM last weekend short of running the wire down to the fuse box, I will mount the rear CAM this weekend probably under the bar on the luggage shelf behind the seats then run the wire later.

Do you mind starting the thread and I'll add to it when I have some pix to post. Thx

Funny you mentioned it -- I've yet to install mine - planned to a couple times, but time always seems to get away from me. I am definitely putting it in Friday morning, though - lol.... I plan to use open spots in the 3rd and 4th rows in the passenger side footwell fuse box. @Aronis has a good go-by here: Radar and Dash Cam Install with photos. - Rennlist - Porsche Discussion Forums, and @Denny Swift has excellent explanation here in post #25: Need guidance hardwiring radar detector - Page 2 - Rennlist - Porsche Discussion Forums. Also, in post #20 here: Dashcam recommendation and install video? - Rennlist - Porsche Discussion Forums, @jonrviper spells out step by step how he did it (albeit with a different camera), and at the end, he listed the fuse taps he used, which I also acquired.

Thanks for asking this because I've been thinking about getting one too but am a little intimidated by installation.
