What did you buy your 718 today?

Do you have a volt meter? If not a light bulb will do. Your first step is to test if you have 12volts after your fuse tap. If not you can focus on completing the circuit to your fuse tap. Next is to see if you have 12 volts at the device. Step by step find out where your circuit is open. By the way did you check your ground is a good ground?

thought I’d have a local upholsterer replace the thread with something lighter colored (silver).

Can you share the part number of the PDK ****? I didn’t realize you could get one with silver stitching and I ordered one with arctic grey stitching instead… part number: 982-713-120-A-PO2

my understanding is that door trim bits aren’t available through Posche’s parts department. Those bits are plastic-welded to the door panel. Swapping them out isn’t impossible, but it isn’t as straightforward as the other trim pieces.
Your best bet is eBay. however, my suspicion is that black brushed aluminum isn’t easy to come by.

I really just want to get rid of the guards red body color trim.

thanks. Maybe my best bet is to swap out for carbon fiber on the console and dash and buy the “stick on” carbon fiber door trim pieces which seem to be available widely. Only issue is matching up the weaves and finishes.

im in the process of purchasing a preowned GT4 from a forum member. The car has a full leather/racetex interior. The trim is leather as well. If I ultimately choose to replace the trim to break up the darkness of the interior, I’ll end up with a similar look to what’s described above.
I suppose it depends on how important it is to you to have the CF extend to the doors

Oh, I see! You have to put fuses in the taps like I have. Without them you are not completing the circuit.
To get everything to fit into the box and the lid on, I had to flip the tap upside down so the wires point towards the top and the new fuses toward the right. Otherwise I'm using the same locations as in your first photos.

Finally got the unit to switch on and now I just have to do tuck all the cables in nicely.
Thanks again!

No, I just loosened up the washer/nut with a wrench and placed the ground wire behind it and re-tightened everything.
Is it critical to check to see if the ground is good? I noticed that the washer/nut and the area around it was painted. Not sure if it will affect the actual contact point.
Thank you.

WELL! no wonder the pic looks so good! 😁
Of course, it's not the equipment that makes excellent pics, it's the person pushing the shutterbutton.. I had an EOS R and then an EOS R5 and a bunch of RF lenses, but I've gotten less able to handle 'heavy' lenses and bodies, so I'm back to only a Fuji X-T4 and a trio of excellent zooms.. The X-T4 is a current crop-frame, 26MP body that will soon be replaced by the incoming Fuji X-H2(r) with a new 40MP sensor and should be available for preorder @ B&H in a day or 2.. The Fuji bodies and lenses are smaller (but not TOO small) and lighter than full-frame gear, mirrorless or not, and will be just fine for me and my lesser adventures.. The pics below were shot with my now-sold Fuji GFX 100S and 32-64 zoom.

I bought my car two tanks of gas today. I had picked it up 4 days ago and have not had much of a chance to drive it due to having two small kids that take up my weekend. This morning I had some meetings to take from home and then was going to head in to the office. I decided instead to keep driving and have lunch in Ashville. I didn't quite make it as I would have been late for dinner so I stopped at a BBQ place in Nowhereville, NC.
I got over 500 miles on the odometer and I feel like the engine is starting to loosen up after 400 miles. So hard to keep it below 4k RPM when the Kline exhaust is just starting to sound good and the engine is just getting in it's power band.
Very happy with the look, feel, and sound of the car so far.

If the floor is sloped, it will continue to drain the way it always has with the tiles. I don't spray in my garage, but I do wash (and hose off outside the garage). All I've noticed is having to run a fan to keep air circulating as the garage dries out, otherwise there is s smell the next day.
My floor slopes towards the door, instead of a proper floor drain setup, so by the looks of it, I think you'd be fine with the tiles and washing indoors.

My garage isn't good looking like some of these and it's a bit cluttered in spots, but I built myself an indoor carwash. I filmed the process, learned the basics of how to edit, made it into a two part video, and started a YouTube channel (for something different to do), where I'm documenting my interest in car and detailing stuff and random other things. The carwash works quite well and definitely slopes towards the driveway. The most expensive part was the rubber garage door thresholds I used around the bottom. I also added air conditioning and posted a video on that. I suppose these are loosely connected to buying something for my GT4 because it's so much more pleasant to work in there now.

Love the ac video. Have been thinking about doing the same and I think this just tipped me over the edge.

Yes it is critical you check the ground. Best to check it with a meter. The contact part should be free of paint. Paint in surrounding area is OK, just not where you make contact. But if your circuit works now, and you have no issues, then it is good to go.
