That sounds encouraging. I would only get OPF delete + their new pipes. I can't perceive any drone driving my car as I feel the cabin is more compromised by road noise (usually highway at 3K RPM)

UPDATE FROM THE CUSTOMER; "OH MY GOD I LOVE IT; WHY DID I WAIT SO LONG TO DO THIS?"

I drove it again to make sure it wouldn't drone and it doesn't at all. To confirm, we are talking about that annoying, ear bleeding resonance you get in most PDK Cayman cars with exhaust mods when you're doing 79mph in a 70mph zone on the interstate in 7th gear at 1850 RPM A.K.A. Dronetown, USA, right?

Akrapovic OAP installed with OEM Muffler.

Just do it. Subtle change under 4K. Magnificent sounds above 4K. I didn't hear or feel any increased levels in drone, and I have good hearing across the spectrum; former musician.

Cheers.

This wont be for everyone, our modular valved parts will still be the best bet for most owners

somewhat (very) belatedly, I think it would be really useful if people identified their intended application for their exhaust changes, i.e track rat/mixed use/weekend toy/daily driver ...

As (my personal experience shows) that what sounds amazing (on a video) might not be a live-able solution for a DD for example!

I think thats a great point @Larry Cable . I'm 90% Street / 10% Track. Average about 1,000 miles each month, mostly because in the winter I put on cold weather tires and beat the snot out the B-Roads in Wisconsin. Do 10-12 track days each year. Mostly Road America. I think thats why a simple OAP/GPF replacement pipe works, and the Akrapovic has a nice low-mid frequency response. So this is a good drone free daily/B-Road solution with the OEM muffler and valve function intact.

To me this works and my baseline comes from owning a 991.1 C4S with PSE. Its not as good as that was, but this solution to me is damn good. I have sensitive hearing so drone and/or loud doesn't work. In fact, after a couple of hours running around with the PSE on in the C4S, I'd have to shut it off.

Lots more content coming from the JCR GT4 in the coming weeks. We have 5 more track events in the next two weeks, any requests please let me know

@phefner I'm a similar split in my Spyder at least - so I am searching for something better than OEM but that is tolerable just cruising along the highways and byways - and the Soul+Akra slip on is too loud for that application for me ... not too mention the local track sound restrictions that vary from 90-102 ... and more often 90-something than 102/3!

Adding our Valved Exhaust System to our Competition Over Axle Pipes (or any OAPs that fit the stock PSE) would result in what we consider to the be "Golden Ticket" setup for majority street use, and we call that our Sport Package. It has a very reasonable cabin presence as cruising speeds, even with valves open. For those interested in learning more about it, feel free to jump in our R&D thread below, we released the details of our Valved Exhaust System in post #360.

SOUL 718 GT4/Spyder/GTS Development Thread

Here are some photos the design and how it works, as well as a video of the sound that can be expected combined with OAPs.

Best regards,
John Gaydos

Default BCFabs Inconel Rear Pipe & OPF Delete

I’m running the @BCFABS Inconel Rear Pipe & OPF Delete as it gives me all the sound I wanted with some performance gain. Didn’t really go into this to get increases in the power, just wanted to release the noise from restrictive back box & GPF/OPF’s. Very little extra drone from this system (between 1800-2200rpm) that could be noticed over stock but main thing is didn’t have to go down route of valve controller which I have heard mixed reviews on regarding drone. Videos of BCFabs system on their Instagram or on mine (MW_Cowley), UK Based.

That is nice. Did you have to touch the ECU as it's a UK model?

Haven’t touched my ECU and no CEL whilst everyday running currently, haven’t done any track work to see if it is any different though. Ben @BCFABS are testing a few different OPF deletes currently and cars without monitored GPF/OPF are available. @Rennolazine is US based and has a full system going on his Spyder.
