Oh, never mind. If you move here from out of state, then yes, there will be a visual inspection to register. Not sure you can tell or not if you have headers on a GT4 visually.

If I get the 982 gen, I'll likely keep it for good, assuming it works out. So, having to "find a guy" sounds dicey. I'm guessing you're in California? Can you send me a PM in "finding a guy"? I'll make sure the car passes emissions test; just the visual part is gonna be tricky. Thanks.

Yeah, I am in CA.

I don't "have a guy", I never keep my cars that long and always keep the stock parts and return to stock before selling.

But, they are out there, just need to make the right connections.

Eh it’s not that easy. These “guys” are in a risky business and don’t stay in the business for very long. You may find a guy one year and after 2 years when you’re due for smog again, you have to start the search all over again. It’s not worth the hassle. I would suggest go the header route for the first 6 years, then put headers back to stock once you need to start smogging.

Has anyone done Kline rear section with stock OAP? How would that sound? Seems like everyone here has done OAP+Kline. I’m really sensitive to drone and don’t want it to be too loud when cruising

The Kline does not appear to fit the stock OAPs. But their website is confusing about it as they do list the rear section separately. They reversed the diameters on the pipes from the stock config.

Yeah, I can see the "short life span" of these outfits!! I'll figure something out. I can ditch the idea of swapping the Header; however, Eric at SupremePower tells me, even the GPF-delete is a problem, for visual. Apparently, it is considered an emissions device. I love California; but, man, there are few things about it drive me up the wall!

It will only get worse. The newest thing now is them checking for an ECU tune.

Ive had a guy for over 15 years. Same place, same face. Price reasonable too. I think these are easier to find than one might think... you just have to be willing to turn over a few rocks and see what crawls out!

After much deliberation over all the great choices for exhaust systems available to us for the 718 platform, today I finally ordered the Kline Inconel OAP pipes and valved exhaust plus Cargraphics controller from Eric at Supreme Power. He was very responsive and helpful with my inquiries and offered very fair pricing. Thanks for the great service so far, Eric! Highly recommended. I can’t wait to experience the Kline system on my on my ‘22 Spyder this fall!

You will be very happy. Eric is the best! If you want to hear what it sounds like check out my instagram dnimi123 as i uploaded a couple runs. The sound is what you can expect but IRL of course better and louder.

Your video and the others on IG and YouTube did it for me. Thanks to all for posting. Someday I will have my own videos out there on the social media for others to enjoy.

Read about that. ECU does a ton of things with fuel mappings, etc. ECU programming plays a critical role. So, I can see the relevance. After all, CA is the biggest domestic market; so, I do expect tighter regulations. Just playing a Devil's Advocate, though few of those regs could affect us enthusiasts.
