Hope you understand.
Mexico and Rivera are disgustingly beautiful colors. If there was PTS when I ordered the yellow car one of those would have been a real possibility. And Miami is tempting, but not as beautiful as those two.....

Oh, I only have one Alpina in my garage (and it's on jackstands); the other is at a shop in pieces. Neither works right now.

I really liked Miami when it launched on the 991.2. Looked great on paper and inside the dealership and in gloomy weather. It became too green for me once it was exposed to sunlight, much like BMWs Laguna Seca Blue. I absolutely love Alpinas, read the first test about a B7 turbo coupe in Auto Motor und Sport in the eighties.

The B7 is an interesting car. An absolute beast when running right, but it is hard to get it and keep it running right. If I had a coupe, I'd rather have a euro M635csi. I love the 5-series though and it was the fastest production sedan in the world when new (a GTI is faster now....). The Pierburg injection is just weird and it is impossible to get parts for it.

That was fun to watch, thanks for posting. So refreshing to hear a Cayman sound so good!

Exactly. This is probably one of the first videos where you can really appreciate how good the NA 4 liter sounds.

I'm really surprised how good that 4L sounds, every other video was underwhelming.

Blah, blah, blah... You guys with this sound thing are getting tiresome. If you prefer the sound of the 6 NA versus the one of the 4 turbo, that's your entitlement but stop trying to justify to others it is the greatest thing since sliced bread. The fact is the 718 GTS with a 4 turbo is a better car than the previous 981 GTS with a 6 NA and dare I say even better than the 981 GT4.

Yes the 4 turbo does not sound the same as the 6 NA but I do not dislike the sound of the 4 turbo, nor the sound of the 6 NA in the Cayman but I'd rather choose better performance over better sound and that's my opinion to which I am entitled to. Besides that, the 6 NA in a Cayman is nowhere near as magic or music to my ears as the NA 6 in a GT3 or GT3RS. So in the same line of thought all GT3 and GT3RS owners could say the 6 NA in a Cayman is just so boring.

End of rant... Have a nice day!

It does sound great but you should look at the tach, the drive was on a track at a lower gear using high revs - that's the sweet spot. It sounded lovely but since my car is a DD, probably not what I would be hearing. Anyway, loved the sound and am happy for all of you who get to enjoy it, particularly on the track.

Love it -- the sound, the gear changes, the tires screaming. Looking forward to more reviews...

Blah, blah, blah...is right. Guys that constantly fan fare or defensively argue for the T4 (which I drove and absolutely enjoyed but also found lacking in character compared to a 981) are getting tiresome as well.

So what if the T4 offers better overall "raw performance"? It's not necessarily the best value, nor the best overall road car Porsche experience for many people. Get over it.

Yeah you're entitled to your opinion and so are others. How about letting those who are keenly focused-on and love Porsche flat 6 sound have theirs?

Your annoyance and defensiveness only comes across as some shred of actual insecurity towards your T4 purchase. If it didn't bother you to some degree, IMO, you wouldn't be so triggered.

Not everyone buys road cars for the utmost "raw performance", it's often about value, personal taste and overall experience/preference.

Have a nice day!

LMAO... those are exactly my points and I agree with you... it is definitely a personal choice and like I said I love the 6’s music but my point is that’s it is the a certain crowd of traditionalists that seems bent on knocking the 4 turbo sound all the time and not the other way around.

Cheers!
