Would that be achieved by pushing wheels out a bit... because bodywork is identical, where do they add that extra front track width?
9" front wheel is an easy upgrade.....it's 0.25" to each side and PAG can adjust the offset of the new wheel. A 255 tire will also fit without major problems. Both mods have been done to many GT4s for track use...including mine
I would bet the GT4 RS gets 9 inch front rims with the same 255 width tires Michelin developed for the GT3.
Plus a minor tweek on the suspension height to maintain rake.

9x20 ET55 wheel has been used by trackrats with success. Same size as used on 991 GT3s.
If they would use the 255 tire as hoped for above the inside of that new tire would be within 1 mm of the 245 tire wheel combo but would extend outward by 11 mm. And that outward movement is the same as some of those ET50 wheels being used on the car nowadays.
It won't have more than 450 ps and I think that is stretching it. Not too sure why people believe Porsche will go above and beyond here. There is a bigger chance of it being 440 rather than 450 in my eyes.

+1
I think it's generally wishful thinking, but I agree, there's no precedent for this. Going back to the 997.1 GT3 and GT3 RS until 991.2 generation, differential between GT3 and GT3 RS hp has been +0 to +25 at most. The one outlier is the 997.2 GT3 to GT3 RS 4.0 at a differential of ~ +65, but it might be a stretch to imagine this for the GT4 RS.
I think most of us will agree that we don't believe PAG will allow the 718 to cannibalize/encroach on the sales of the 911 and their performance whether we're talking about the regular variants or GT variants. Just got the latest issue of Excellence and it has an article about the GT3 prototype. Looks like the editor took a drive with AP. On the cover it mentions "500+ HP Stormer" and in the article, it shows a spec box of 502 hp. Of course these are estimates but I share this here in the GT4 RS thread because I believe this is another "clue" that the GT4 RS will not be 500 hp as some people claim. IMO, I just don't believe it will be anywhere close to 500 hp. Like I've previously said, I think maybe somewhere between 425-450hp. If the GT4 RS is close to 500 hp, it will eclipse the GT3 for sure and I really don't see PAG letting that happen. They have to keep a hierarchy in their models and allowing the "lessor" 718 to eclipse the 911 GT3 will not go well for their customer base nor for the higher ups. Of course, the 502 hp figure is just an estimate but they could have also printed an estimate of 525 hp or 550 hp or 575hp but specifically printed "only" 502 hp. It's probably not too far off from the real number once they finish with EPA testing and emissions, etc.
On another side note, the article mentioned the swan neck wing is good for an additional 50% downforce so it seems the GT4 RS will need to substantially balance the new rear downforce with lots more in the front and that is why I believe that additional front side channel is needed. At least the side channel that was shown on the fake render that we all thought was real.

That 992 GT3 info has been out now for some time. Every senior Euro motoring journo got a drive with AP in the launch blue (black wrapped) car and a tour of the Weissach GT garage. The new GT3 uses the individul throttle bodies of the GT3 Spyder to overcome the power-sapping effects of the exhaust filters. GT4 RS could conceivanble use individual 6 TB's but I agree would not encroach on GT3 power. Still, a 450-470 bhp lightweight GT4 would be fantastic. They could count me in if I could get build slot!!!
