718 GT4RS

For the transition away from combustion engines... keep in mind many European countries/cities have bans on new purely fossil fuel cars starting in 2030. Assuming these regulatory timelines don't change (which I think is unlikely), everything sold 2030+ would have to be EV or hybrid and then EV only 2035+. Porsche is probably an OEM that will keep ICE engines around as long as feasible (unlike others moving more quickly to hybrid/EV only), but ultimately they have to plan their platform cycles 7-10 years in advance. If you read or listen to any interviews with Preuninger over the last 2-3 years he highlights how nearly all the engineering effort for GT drivetrains is going into maintaining existing performance while complying with ever tighter restrictions on ICE engines (emissions, fuel economy, noise, etc).
So it's hard to see how the next Cayman/Boxster platform won't at a minimum will be EV centric if not totally EV. Conceivably you could see the 718 platform further evolved for ICE engines or "mild" hybrids for a few more years, and I'd expect the 911 platform will be the very last ICE cars that Porsche produces.
Regardless, I will savor the GT4 RS assuming I can get my hands on one.

^^^^ Yes, cars will still go EV, and ICE vehicles will be banned or made so expensive as to render them unusable, as there's too much momentum at this time for anything else to happen. Unfortunately, the climate crisis scam will not go away for many decades, if ever, as even if it gets colder it's "due to CO2." This is the mechanism whereby real money can be extracted from taxpayers, to be spent however the elite wish, and they will milk it for decades. The reality is that the climate cycles colder and warmer on a few scales, and we have exited the Little Ice Age of a few hundred years ago into the Modern warm Period. This warming of the past 100-150 years is mostly, if not completely, natural, save for Urban Heat island Effect, which is not due to CO2. CO2 is not a pollutant, and these marxists will ride this scam as long as people will allow it. Sorry to hijack this thread, but the reality is that CO2 levels are at low-ish levels historically, and were really low in the Little ice Age. More CO2 helps flora worldwide, and a warmer world extends growing seasons and food supply. Going to solar and wind power for electricity generation, and layering on the need for transportation to be electric, is what is potentially catastrophic, not the climate!. I know many of you really believe there is a climate emergency, but it just isn't so. I urge you to do your own research. Trillions of dollars and trillions of Euros have already been wasted on this, and trillions more will be. Now back to your regularly scheduled GT4RS programming... Too bad it isn't getting a manual...

Guys, I think you meant to post those comments on Parler or Gab. This is Porsche forum.

My point was that WHEN the “co2 causes global warming” (or conveniently renamed to “climate change”) scam inevitably collides with reality (Had enough “warming” this winter already?) it will pay for a car manufacturer to have some ICE tech and models still left to produce and sell. Those who have completely eliminated ICE from their product maps will have to scramble back and re-build. It would be a smart hedge for Porsche to delay erasing ICE from their line-up as much as possible, hopefully long enough for the scam-driven anti-fossil-fuel mania to subside.

Take that BS to the political forum where "fact" is a relative term. Plz.
