Burning Brakes
I drove the Taycan Turbo and it was hugely entertaining!! It also weighs more than my Wrangler though... so while I think it's a ton of fun, I wouldn't remotely think the tech can transfer to something like a Cayman and be just fine. Right now an EV is either super heavy or very limited in range. Batteries are heavy and there's no getting around that. So while I loved driving it... having something like it to take to track days, even if the track had chargers and could fill it up between sessions, is a no go. It's just not gonna handle like a sports car. Physics won't allow it.
I'm curious how the Taycan performs in resale (too soon to tell), if it follows other EV's, the drop will be steep. What happens when these are $65k cars on the 3rd owner who can just barely afford payments and the battery needs replacement? What will Porsche charge for that? $10k? $15k? Will these future owners be willing to pay that bill? I know this is a hypothetical and rare, but with the new fast charging being pushed by Porsche it is conceivable that these batteries will degrade much faster when used on these chargers regularly.
I look at pure EV's like I do Apple watches, they are the hot new thing for about 2 years post-launch, but eventually they will all end up in a landfill. I am a mechanical watch / flat 6 kind of guy.

Soooo...from test mule to final product in 1-2 months? I don't think so.
People...when you see a final, almost final products testing plus the typical PR shorts then you can add 4-6 months to an actual launch.
and stop listening to dealer!

This is the GT3 launch, not the GT4RS. I'm being told the GT4RS is probalby a fall launch and a 2022 car.
