all the VIPs and collectors will be in line for the GT4RS. I bet very few of those bought regular 982s.

Personally, if you're getting a PDK, money is not a huge factor, and you don't mind the bigger wing, I'd wait for the RS assuming you can get an allocation.

I think a manual would be the plan for me, PDK is cool for the track, but for street its sleepy - like the old school single clutch F1/SMG gearboxes for street

No luck for you then. The last RS with a manual was the 997 4.0 GT3 special.

Maybe for the first batch of the GT4RSs but there will be plenty to go around. Porsche is in business to make money.

That depends how long Porsche is willing to keep using the 981.2, excuse me 982, platform.....again, if they do make this thing is will be a 2022 model, so 1 more year...maybe two??? Who know.....

You’re right that they are a business out for profits, but they also have a business strategy and have no issues executing it. The RS won’t be numbered, but I bet when it’s all said and done, meaning the VIPs and collectors get theirs, then those who pay ADM or buy multiple cars a years get theirs... then maybe a few of us might get theirs before the model ends.

They made around 2000 Speedsters. Were there enough to go around? MSRP?

I witnessed a GT4 out testing with NACA ducts in the front hood. To me that says GT4RS but we'll see.

if you just had to have an allocation, then no, if you were okay picking up the dealer spec, then yes, eventually. For a pretty small ADM you could pick up a PTS speedster with very low miles at least for a while.

This car is going to be the first Cayman model with the RS moniker on it, it will definitely be very hot and attracting a lot of attention from a lot of car enthusiasts. Also it may be the last year of the 718 platform therefore limiting the number of builds.

Considering the 2021 GT4 does offer PDK, how much improvement is the RS really going to offer? The body panels will be the same so if Porsche puts on any bigger tires we would be able to fit it into a standard GT4/Spyder platform as well (maybe wider wheels too). And that will decrease the lap times further. Then it leaves more downforce/aero and a HP/Tq bump.

But that is true for all RS-models. It's not one huge gain, but rather a series of incremental changes. In reality, the biggest difference between a 991.2 GT3 and the RS is the 20/21" wheel setup and especially the wider front tire (and the possibility of running the Cup2r). The rest is rather marginal when it comes to lap times. But it's still pretty great, and the RS models are sought after in a different way compared to the regular GTs.

But you are right. If you do the full exhaust and headers, fix the chassis to get the alignment right, add some more aero from Manthey you should be pretty close (or faster) than the stock GT4RS.

I totally agree that we will see a GT4 RS. Question is, When?

I was simply responding to someone else's post, which asked a more definitive question, with the implication that the car already exists (for sale).
