On the CS the upper appears to be the sole intake for the TB now based on the pictures shown here on RL (cooler air was the driver on the CS IIRC).
If, and again its just a WAG, its incorporated on the RS air might come in both from the top and from the bottom intakes. The top would provide a little more, extra airflow with somewhat cooler air to assist with any proposed power increase that engine would have.

Since Porsche is very careful to prevent an overlapping between the 911 and 718, the Cayman GT4 RS won't be as powerful as the GT3 RS, but it will probably generate as much as the 911 GT3.
If this happens, the Cayman GT4 RS will arrive with an extra 79 horsepower and an additional 30 pound-feet compared to the standard GT4, which is rated at 414 horses and 309 pound-feet. This figure will make it the most powerful iteration of the 718 Cayman to date.
493 horsepower and 339 ft/lbs of torque is what this "journalist" thinks, same as the GT3 non RS. Most people think it will be closer to 450, but who knows 450+ seems possible. This is the first non 911 RS so i don't think its unreasonable that it gets these figures if the price is going to be slightly less but similar to the current model 911 GT3 non RS.

I think they are really going to bump up the coming 992 GT3 RS and that PAG is no longer holding back the Cayman, especially with the 4 RS. The current 982 car can do a 7:22 on a Nring with the manual I bet that the PDK will do 7:15. I think the 4RS car will surprise on output and be breaking records. Even if it isn't 500 hp some fancy titanium bolt ons, ecu tune and its over 500.
Thats my bet, sorry but i'm not sorry and have a different opinion lol

Apologies if this was posted already - I didn't see it anywhere in last 3 pages of this thread. Client sent me this yesterday:

Well...
the 992 gt3 just reported to have 503 bhp (510 PS). Basically a modified speedster engine. No F way the GT4RS gets over 450... if that. I think 440 is prob what we will get on paper. Thst said, Its probably gonna be significantly underrated like the gt4.

I agree. 440-450 hp tops plus a little weight savings and more efficient aero. Will still be a weapon. Not a GT3 but still a weapon.

AP just said on the GT3 video that the engine is the next level up from Speedster and "we are getting more than 510". This is reinforces that the 4RS would fit perfectly in the range of 440-470 as it is an RS car and should be close to the GT3 given it will cost like 13k less.

I’m having a hard time understanding Porsche micro-segmenting the market with a GT4RS that’s going to have the same power to weight ratio as the née GT3. It’s difficult to imagine a take rate being high for that vs people buying the far more desirable GT3, which will also come in manual. The RS makes way more sense to me as a very small engine upgrade (like the 3 to the RS normally is) and some increased aero bits, but still well below the power and price of the GT3.

More than 510...like 515? There will be no major bump in power, it's not the way Porsche works...just the same as their will be no major bump in power in a 4RS....but we will see.

I agree with this....but some people wont accept the reality that PAG is a business and correct market segmentation is more important than building a GT4RS for the hard core RL members.

I’m going to guess the gt3 will cost more than folks expect. Especially with basic options. Vola. More room for market segmentation. it’s not like they’ve been having trouble selling gt cars.
