Wow, that is quite the claim!! I would LOVE to have a 997 3RS

My plan was to have my 718 gt4 manual for a year then go 4rs....and now I just can't give up the manual.

I got rid of my 991.2 gt3rs after I just got so bored with pdk. I feel like I'm just going to make the same mistake if I go 4rs and regret selling the last manual I could get in a GT cayman

Basically I am addicted to manuals lol

Also for whoever said they like the feeling of how did I not get arrested just now driving that car...you HAVE to go drive a scuderia and run it around town/canyons at WOT. I actually gave up getting s 997 3RS in 2017 for that car I loved it so much, I'll never sell that car ever it's insane. If you sunday drive you won't enjoy, but if you drive cars hard as the car likes (really has to) to be driven

I ran into my sales person at the local Porsche dealer. He said they have a unspokenfor GT4RS allocation coming with a March lock date. I asked the dreaded question - how much asking over MSRP - $70k. Ouch! Neverthless, if someone has any negotiating skills I'm sure you can do a lot better. Call Tommy at Porsche of Destin, and tell him matttheboatman sent you. He is a nice guy, and straight shooter (rare!), but the dealership is like most - trying to squeeze the last dollar they can with specialty allocations.

5'7.5 155 lbs and there's no way I'm getting on the track in sofas. Buckets all the way here.

You just can't beat the snugness that you need to have with a bucket on the track if you're not on the track forget about it do what you do...but if you're going to go on a race track sofas are not appropriate in my lame *** opinion. You need to have a harness and you need to have a helmet and you need to have a Hans device and all of those things are better suited to a bucket seat preferably the carbon fiber Porsche bucket. Yeah
I track my sofas just fine lol

couldn’t handle the buckets for daily driving anymore as I dual duty with my new cars as I like tracking with warranties

I get the want to have a manual hence why I have a manual Touring along with the 997. I just find tracking the mid engine Cayman platform to be more fun than tracking a 911 platform, takes more effect to go fast and less scary closer to the limit.

I save the sofa seats (18-way) for my daily drivers...Macan/Cayennes/Taycan.

For street: LWB

For track: full buckets with HANS

LWBs aren't for serious track driving.

Why? You mean not for serious competition driving?

All choices come with compromise. LWB are not the end all in terms of lateral support, particularly without a harness. And with a harness, they come with certain disadvantages from a safety perspective like the lack of halo head support. So for track, whether just HPDE or competition, an actual race seat is better.

But then a race seat is basically unusable on the street and probably more dangerous than LWB for multiple reasons.

So at the end of the day, you have to choose the compromise that suits you best. Especially since most people do not have a non-street legal track car and a separate road car.
