100%. Plenty of aftermarket options that also save on weight, but most importantly are 9'' wide in the front.

I keep looking at the WP and I still can justify that. Or the wheels. Aftermarket wheels yes. and as you said wider fronts.

In the below video AP talks about the sound difference, base vs WP. I have watched this video so many times since I had the same concern that you do.
Currently I think the base car will sound good enough in the interior. With time more data will be available.

At first AP says the air intake scoop (on the WP) doesn't make much difference. He says a little ram effect.
Then a little later he says the WP sounds better but is louder, a little bit.
(So I speculate making parts of the WP air box and ducting of carbon fiber makes it stiffer, with perhaps some sound improvement.
But I feel the WP overall is part of marketing strategy rather than performance benefits (except that magnesium wheels will give performance gains) to make people think they are getting something more with the WP carbon fiber. Especially for people who like the look of carbon fiber.)

I asked a journalist aftern he put his You Tube video out, who drove both the base and WP GT4RS on Streets of Willow if he noticed an interior sound difference. He said he did not but he was not looking for a difference.

If there is any sound difference, it would be less noticeable with a helmet on…

100%

Also I had the privilege of getting passed (multiple times) by a 4RS Club sport this weekend at the track. What I find interesting is the Club sport does NOT have the carbon airbox--its the black plastic. The carbon is likely all looks and don't even know if they've mentioned the weight savings.

Great information that confirms there is no performance advantage to the carbon airbox bits.

Porsche is not shy about claiming any tiny weight savings or performance advantage with its options. You can be sure we would have heard about either or both, if one existed.

However, I'm not going to say that both WP and base intakes and airboxes sound identical - I just don't know. However, I wouldn't automatically assume that either one sounds louder or better (and louder is not necessarily better in this case - sound character and decibel level are not necessarily related).

I have a feeling with the large ADM's most cars won't be ordered PTS or with the WP unless it was a 918 VIP or MSRP allocation. Let's see what actually happens.

Do you all think $80k ADM is a good deal as of March?

I believe there is a thread on here by the guy that reviewed it. I’ll look for it.

Atlanta, and both Dealerships are MSRP only for new cars.
