It's still unsprung weight and the rotor is right in the middle not like a wheel.
APs rotor may not be as light as PCCBs but it's lighter than OEM Iron.
The wheel is the one you need the lightest. A set of 19" forgelines with Pirelli DHs saves 7-8 lbs per corner compared to the GT4 982 wheels.
Going with a set of Lightspeed or Augment Mag wheels in 19" would be the ticket coupled with the AP kit.
BTW...the AP setup will brake far better than the PCCBs...I will trade 1-3 lbs per corner for having bette rbraking.

We'll have to wait and see how much a set of 19" magnesium wheels can save over the oem 20" magnesium ones.
This is what i will most likely end up doing....

But keep in mind...even with the Iron brakes you have a 408 mm disc and the big OEM caliper....will need to stay in 20" wheels.
IMO OEM Mags in 20" vs Lightspeed Mags in 19" at the most 2-3 lbs...but since you are doing customs wheels you can do a 9" front one which is on par with the GT3 and helps with handling.

Good question....the ST rotor will be lighter and contrary to PCCBs can be re-surface several times.
With ST you are still using the OEM caliper vs the much lighter AP caliper. So weight wise it kinds of balance out with a slight less weight for PCCB/ST.
Cost is around $14K for the 4 ST rotors and $13K for a full (F+R) AP kit including pads
I'm betting the 992 GT3 kit will fit the GT4RS but in any case AP/ST will almost sure develop the kits
In terms of braking I can't comment as I have never tracked a car with ST rotors...many PCCBs on the other hand.
I do like the choice of pads that Iron rotors provide and personally the pedal feel.
Disclaimer here....I'm looking at all of this from a track use perspective.

Tires stop cars - the RS has plenty of brake and in built cooling. It doesn’t need an aftermarket kit.

BTW...a friend showed me a pic of a GT4RS in Miami (on a building parking). He told me he know the owner so must be that VIPs are getting their cars already.
