it was good read until they said that the GT4 RS has double wishbone front and multi-link rear end, like the standard GT4

I noted that flaw too. It was AP's reported reflections that are interesting I think.

Stripper GT3 Touring versus an RS with WP - I’d take the 911. Canadian pricing. I know the WP is an option but it seems like one of those must haves for this model. I was surprised they were this close.

I added buckets and PDLS+

I added WP and PDLS+

You forgot the insane adm for tourings…and the total lack of availability.

Found these weights from Porsche web site, all with PDK. A 992GT3 is significantly lighter than a 992GTS, but both 718GT4/GT4RS are about the same as a 718GTS. So the GT4RS never really went on a diet as it appears.

I wouldn't bother with the triangle pieces from Porsche. Most people get aftermarket ones with the little lip that help reduce wind buffeting since you have to drive with windows down on track. They make them in carbon fiber that matches Porsche's. So just get those.

Default Porsche Design GT4 RS Watch

Following your selection of vehicle options from the Porsche Vehicle Configurator, you may wish to consider adding the Porsche Design GT4 RS Watch that Andreas Preuninger touted during recent interviews.

CAUTION: Watching the videos, some were left with the notion that this special watch – described as matching your GT4 RS's option scheme – will accompany your purchase of the car. But, alas, that's not the case. It's not only another (costly) option, it's even merited its very own 'watch configurator'! And the cost of this unique chronometric adornment? North of US$7,000 (adjusting for a deduction of a listed 20% VAT). To place your order, check it out: Porsche Design Timepiece Configurator.

Below is a sample GT4 RS watch taken from the Porsche Design website:

[QUOTE=BioBanker;17795195 Amazing marketing - have scarcity jack price into a stratasphoric gross margin and then remove the scarcity and capture that margin on volume because demand is still higher than the cars that are available any given day (and then come out with a next gen once demand is satisfied) and the buyers have accepted the price as being the price.
^This 100%, couldn’t have said it better myself.

Porsche did the long play and did limited for awhile, then eased supply. Case in point with the 981 GT4 and now look at the 718 GT4. If you want a GT4 now, you can eventually get it. We’re at year 3 (more like 3.5 since production occurred in 2019) of production and will probably get 3 more years based on the GT4RS production cycle. That’s 6 years vs.1 year for the 981 GT4. But everyone is accustomed to paying at least MSRP and jumping on it as soon as they get an allocation.

There will be limited cars coming to keep the dream alive. But the base GT4 and even GT3 will be easier and easier to get, relatively speaking. Which for me is fabulous, I am not a VIP and it gives me the opportunity to own these amazing “last of” cars.

Just curious why in the WP option that the fender vents and Naca are not carbon fibre and remains plastic. It’s not much more.

This might not be an explanation, but it was the same with the WP in the 991.2 GT3 RS.
