While I have been wrong on a couple of predictions, the manual on this car is one that has very little chance of happening.
Don't worry, if it does happen I'm sure selling the PDK wont be a problem

Porsche said they developed the GT4RS for the track, or mountain driving, or for pleasure driving where you take your GT4RS rather than taking your motorcycle. It is not for long drives or daily drives from my understanding.
I LOL’d when I realized I’ll be that guy who does looong road trips in a GT4RS and states it’s perfect for road trips😂

Yeah, I’ve heard of people doing that. But I think it’s related more to drivetrain movement under load than ripping quickly through the revs, no?

I haven’t found that to be a problem in the 991 nor 992 Manual GT3’s I’ve owned (I know it was an issue with 997 and the 991/992 revs higher more quickly).

Its an RS - there will be no manual - the RS is the peak performance vehicle Porsche engineer for the general market. If you want a manual get a GT4 or 992/991.2 GT3 - plenty available.

Too bad a large number of RSs will never touch a track...not even an AutoX. They become C&C specials and last until Porsche comes out with a new shiny thing.
I don't say everyone should become a track rat but at least a couple of times everyone should experience what these cars were design for on a controlled environment.
Its a very typical cycle for amateur motorsport enthusiasts. There are many reasons for this, its not just cost. There is always a point where it stops being fun - there are many triggers for this e.g. taking part in race series, moving up the ranks, realising its often not an even playing field, people that must win rather than be the best they can be and therefore win etc etc.

The secret to lasting enjoyment is being the best you can be, focus on beating your own PBs, use good training and data logging etc to do that. Don't get sucked in to the vortex of the politics or buying the fastest car to be the "fastest". Ultimately, the performance of the vehicle is dictated by the performance of the driver - its never the other way around.

With the RS, at least in the 3RS world I know, a lot of the owners are track or other forms of motorsport enthusiasts - many have been active participants in motorsports series to fairly high level e.g. national and in some cases international level. I would hope its the same for the 4RS market - they really are designed to be driven hard and with work and training you can take them to the limit. I'm sure some will be purchased for the flex circuit and others for the cars and coffee circuit. However, as a general rule, at least where I live, the RS branded cars have tended to end up in the hands of people that use them hard for a few years and then retire them when the next model comes out.

There’s a gt4rs clubsport at PECLA now. Looks fantastic. They expect to offer gt4rs sessions in the fall.

Just think about the Zapruder file,," back and to the left..."

Full throttle through a flat out right turn,,, turn 6 at Sebring , turn 6 at homestead, possibly 5 at Daytona, car in third , your body is loaded left and back so pulling straight back is not really pulling straight back to 4 th but pulling toward ...
hello 2nd...

I suspect the faster and harder you are accelerating the more of an issue it may be. Never had a manual GT 3 and not an issue in 3 RS's but it was an issue I had to be aware of and protect against in my 981 GT4.

Cheers

Shift from 3->4 should be a thumb down move with a push away like the breast stroke.

3->2 should be thumb up with a strong pull in move.

with that technique, high G turns should not be a problem.

As for the ATL dealers, I just called to speak with them about their policy but the sticker sale price only really applies to locals. Makes sense they can also make money on servicing of the vehicles. But the other problem is there is 0 cars to buy. they have huge lists and no allocations. taken tons of deposits for Turbo S, GT3s, GT4RS, etc...
Crazy market right now...
Ah, but at least Clubsports are available as preowned cars, unlike 4RSs, especially as of now.

Just to put things in perspective, it's perfectly sensible and fun to have a manual with a high revving NA motor. I love it with my 9,000 rpm GT3's on road and track and here is a guy shifting at 12,100 rpm in a 3-pedal car to show what's possible
