Dealer Allocation Tracker

I hadn't been to my dealer in two decades (although I did buy a car from them back then, although they changed hands in the interim). I got a true MSRP spyder allocation in July of 2021. Lucky boy.

A lot of of this ADM vs no ADM is market timing too. Prior to COVID, these car and previous gen were getting ADM. When COVID hit and people started abandoning their orders, MSRP was readily available. Now we're in a place where ADM is back. Some dealers charge more than others and some recoup it with lower trade in values, etc. The rarity now is a dealer that truly charges MSRP with no strings attached.

True. In the late 2020, many dealer had several GT4 sitting in the lot with no buyers. My dealer even had 2 allocation available with no ADM for over a month with no takers, and this is in the Southern California. Now almost all new car had ADM and $20k ADM on a six figure new car does not seem that bad anymore.

I wish I was in a position to buy a GT4 2 years ago. I would have loved to pay no ADM. Oh well.

I agree with archimedes that so many on rennlist say it's a forever car and then GONE!
I do think the GT3 buyer is WAY more of a speculator/trendy buyer. They're buying these cars because they (wrongfully) think they'll own them "for free for 3 years"......and they'll get a rude awakening soon enough.
108 2022 GT3's for sale on autotrader If you "need an allocation" they're out there
16 2022 Gt4's for sale

i’ll clarify: i PLAN to keep the car until i’m dead, but IT IS FOR SALE. $250k, includes full PPF, ceramic, tint, car cover, 16”x20” metal print of delivery and “see thru” pic of spec, extra lloyd’s mats with the no-longer-available porsche font, and finally, at the buyer’s option, i can sign the car. i’d hate to see it go. (this is a limited time offer)

What I do know is that the GT4 price point is tops for a number of people or even a stretch. But it's the attainable GT car than any other. I also know that there are not many on the market here in Canada, speaking of 981 and 718. When they come on the market they go quick. While they didn't build many, they are held longer.

I'm 6'3" and my knees basically were hugging the steering column. Any sort of collision most likley means leg damage and that's just not something I want to deal with. Not to mention medically, driving a manual is just not really recommended by my doctors anymore. I still wanted a high revving, NA, Mid-engine, RWD car, and what better upgrade to the S2000 than the GT4.
I plan on holding onto the GT4 till I can't drive anymore.

I know this isn't really on topic so I will end with Porsche Redwood City just got an allocation in a few days ago that I passed on. So if you are looking for one, please give them a call!

Haha I think I'm lucky in the sense that I'm the kind of person that actually doesn't need much power. I thought I did. When I had my BRZ I had a supercharger on it and it was running about 260whp. I ended up removing it a few months later and massively enjoying the NA lower power aspect of it. S2000 was kinda the same. had plans to turbo, but then just stayed stock as I was really enjoying the power. My highest hp car was the M2 Competition at 410 (technically the Supra was higher but never confirmed. My mechanic said he thinks that the crank hp was closer to 450). And I have to say, it was more than enough power for me. Looking forward to having 400 horses in a NA/Mid-engine setup.
I'm speaking primarily for track duty, especially fast tracks. It's plenty of power for the street. In fact I much prefer aircooleds on the street, you can have more fun at the speed limit or just above than any modern car. You get more out of the cars capabilities.
Enjoy when your car arrives!

personally, I don't think ADM will ever soften before the end of the 718 GT4. From what I hear, the 2023 allocations are in pretty low supply. They are there (I got one myself), but you will be paying decent ADM to secure one. That and right now there is more demand than there are supply. There are plenty of people who are still in line waiting for an MSRP allocations, and just as many people willing to pay ADM to get ahead of the line.

Forget the wait, uncertainty, and ADMs and just go buy this near-new and perfectly spec'd 981 GT4 with 1300 miles: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/20...cayman-gt4-97/
Not only is it a great car in and of itself; it also makes for a great trading pawn that WILL get the attention of the dealers you're trying to woo.
Hey--maybe I'll go buy it to help me get a GT4 RS!
No affiliation...other being a lover of GT4s.
Good luck!

Its also a 981. Yeah market isn't softening at all imo. If anything its just kinda hit its plateau. I personally think if Porsche announce the end of the ICE GT4, prices are going to skyrocket even further.
