Dealer Allocation Tracker

it varies widely and wildly between dealerships and jurisdictions. My dealer has at times asked for $1K, $5K, and 0. 0 is for, lolz you’re not even on the list but I’ll write down your phone number on this sticky note while you’re watching so you feel like a valued client and throw it away at the end of the day.

Although TBF, my SA did in fact call me and ask if I wanted to bid on an allocation later even though I clearly am not “on the list”.

Yeah I just feel dumb at this point. The reason why I ended up putting a non-refundable deposit down is because I contacted 5 different dealerships around me and 3 of them sent me basically the same looking deposit form and they all say non-refundable. That's why I assumed it was "normal".
This is in Northeast NJ if anyone else has experience around the tristate area.

As said you don't have an allocation yet. Not sure how they can do a non-refundable deposit with no guarantee there will even be allocations given out this year let alone next year for what you want.
Non-refundable is fine to me once it goes v200 or v250 and I'm sure others have done it and kept quiet at v70, but you're the first person I've seen on here claim their deposit at v70 was a non-refundable deposit. A lot of people stateside had their name on multiple dealer lists, with deposits from 0 to 20g cash to whatever they traded in prematurely. There was one guy on here who backed out of his car once it arrived and the dealer was going to keep his deposit until they instantly sold it that day for full ask (this was winter 2020/2021 before things went crazy) then they refunded him.
So i think you're right in having second thoughts... sounds like that dealer is questionable. Realistically though they will refund your deposit. My province has no requirement to refund a deposit at all regardless of the reason it was given unless it was written it would be refunded. I owned a dealership and never once kept a deposit. it's not worth the bad review. I also worked for a big dealership and never once did they keep a deposit for the same reason, even if they did thousands of work to the car it didn't need at the customer's request (like changing tires or adding stupid accessories). So even though they say non refundable you'll probably get it back if you ask for it.

In the meantime, maybe I can try to find other dealerships around here... If anyone knows good dealerships (and a contact as well) around NJ/NY area, I'd appreciate it.

Lots of good suggestions for exotic colors. But perhaps entertain the idea of going old school - Black. I'm dreaming driving down the Miami coastline with the top down around sunset. Miami Vice style!

Yeah really hoping this is the case and if I don't receive an allocation by end of next year I'll try to get my money back.

Unless this is a forever car, that is too close to race yellow to up the price by 10%+ IMO. It would be like getting PTS carrara white when white is a free option. PTS I'd say unless you've been plotting to get a specific color for 10 years and plan to keep it forever get something unique that will stand out from the standard colors.
Pastel orange, british racing green/brewster green, Ultra violet. Those won't get confused for a standard color.

Speed yellow has just the right amount of orange / gold in it. Racing yellow is very washed out in that sense; and feels...sterile / cold, to me.
But obviously color is 100% subjective, so YMMV.
I don't think you should go in the weeds just so you don't look standard, unless you find a color out there which really speaks to you. My speed yellow 996tt was a looker.
