I have an incoming GT3 and the build date keeps getting pushed forward toward end of year. Now due for delivery in October; build date is after traditional cutoff for MY changeover. I spoke to my SA yesterday and asked if would become a MY23 car and he said definitly not. He said Porsche has made cars after summer break and stayed the last model year designation. So build dates will go pretty far out and likely right up to 2023 to fulfill allocations already assigned for MY22. Not sure if that means MY23 production timeline is delayed as well.

It's by Txshaggy -- whose posts are factual and to the point.
Pretty darn sure I learned about V200 from his posts to help members clear up missunderstandings in the past.
Hopefully he can jump in and explain the nuances here.
The strange thing is that if your vehicle drops down to V170 for revisions and gets a new production date --- it seems like a (special) form of new allocation.

Hmm, interesting. The Australian thread said Porsche Australia said end of model line for GT4s Spyders for there and told dealers to stop taking build orders. No MY23’s yet. Each by themselves is meaningless but added together is making me wonder if there maybe isn’t a MY23 in the works for GT4s/spyders.

unlikley.
I suspect they are being cautious as wait times are so long. I don’t think it’s reasonable to take deposits and place ‘orders’ for a car possibly built 18months away.
I know for example there is so much demand for GT4 RS at all Aussie dealerships that it’s just a name on a very long list right now, and that car is only just starting its production run.
basically just because Aussie dealerships aren’t taking orders doesn’t mean they aren’t making 718’s into 2024

I dont know. German manufacturers are pretty global for platforms. What they build and what we get is largely the same everywhere minus local laws that conflict with laws elsewhere. I feel they wouldn't do something in a small geographical area that didn't also get done everywhere unless there was outside forces unique to that small area that caused an individual policy change that only affects that area.
So either they're taking a break from collecting demand orders like Prime thinks (hopefully true) because demand is so crazy they're guaranteed to sell until the end of the model....... or they're discontinuing Gt4/spyders for MY23 everywhere and Australia is the first to hint at it...... or they're deviating from the norm and discontinuing it just in the Australian market and going full steam ahead in other markets for MY23 (seems the least likely).
I can't see them discontinuing 718 production until the EV replaces it, but there is now at least 3 minor anomalies that hint at it being possible MY22 is the end of some of the 718 models (no MY23s in spring allocations, the Porsche Australia statement of don't try to sell GT4s cuz it wont get filled, and a 4 year production run of an individual GT model not happening before and AP originally said pre-covid MY20 and 21, maybe MY22).

If MY22 is the last year for GT4 / Spyder then id expect a Spyder RS announcement imminently and a much larger number of GT4 RS built than most expect.
I personally think we will see a MY23 GT4 / Spyder, and I think soon most places will be like Australia and have their entire MY23 allocations of 718's and likely 911's already with orders next to them.

There are allocations at dealers right now. I've spent the morning and afternoon calling all of the Porsche dealers in my state and found a couple allocations. I grabbed one for April build (w/ADM).
So, they do exist, but you have to put in the work. Grab a pen and paper and start calling every Porsche dealer on Google maps.
