Dealer Allocation Tracker

until then, it’s the dealer’s car and they can just refund you your deposit and do anything they want with their car.

^^^ I wonder what would happen if you submitted a build bloated with all kinds of expensive options to get the better chance at the allocation, and then just before your build locked, you changed it to be a low option car...
I'm sure that someone must have done this before...

But I bet you could do it with PCCBs and buckets and then switch to irons and 2 ways if you changed nothing else. Just be like man we sat in a friend's car with buckets and my wife is orca fat and she can't fit and I plan to track it every week and I thought PCCBs were for track but Prueninger said don't get the PCCBs if you track it. They can't really fault you too much for that.

My dealer, Kings Porsche in Cincinnati, hasn’t said anything about my changes. Recently dropped $9k in options and the manager didn’t blink. He sent the new build sheet, production timing along with a reminder that my freeze date is Oct 6 should I want to make any other changes. Kings has been outstanding to deal with.

I don’t agree with pumping up the build to secure an allocation. It might be a demographic or cultural thing. When my order was about to lock I was really on the fence with carbon buckets. I was about to change my spec from sport seats to buckets. My SA along with his boss talked me out of it. They based that purely on the amount of people getting rid of their cars strictly because of the discomfort of those seats. Their recommendation was based solely on my well being and not in the bottom line.
As a side note, I think I would regret the seat choice regardless of what I chose. Buckets because they likely would irritate my sciatica. And the sports seats because they aren’t buckets. I’m not gonna worry about it.

How many deposits have you guys put down? $10k? $20k? Most dealers I have called either have a wait list that is already too long that they can not consciously take more deposits or have not received any gt4 allocations for months.

If someone was to try and get on wait list at other dealers at same time wouldnt that show up as soon as they put your name in the computer? Wouldnt Porsche and other dealers frown upon this? What do u guys think?

In theory I'm first in line at the this point, but no Boxster GTS allocations at my dealer since last Nov. They had more GT4 / Spyder than GTS. No deposit (I offered, but they declined as this will be my 3rd Porsche from them - at this point they know that when I'm serious they are going to make a sale). Hoping for allocation by year end and delivery next April or May (no use any earlier given the snow and road salt around here). I'll give them credit though - when I noted that with my luck it would end up a Jan. or Feb. delivery they said they'd drop it off at my house via enclosed truck. Being in sales of a sort myself I feel for them - they are doing everything right, they just need the actual vehicle to sell.
