You know how I feel - I thought about waiting but the 2021s will be the same, but maybe more money, and who knows how many will be made considering that the 2022 GT3 is gearing up production. And if one can get an allocation now why wait?!

We might know re Shark Blue once the Porsche Sales & Vehicle Management System is updated to allow orders for 2022 allocations. My sales manager told me he expects the update to happen around March 31.
Yesterday I was given a choice between a 2021 Spyder allocation for delivery in July, or wait for a 2022 allocation to be built in July with delivery in likely August or September. I chose to wait for 2022 model with the hope that Shark Blue might be available. If not, then at least I have a Spyder at the beginning of 2022 model year rather than end of 2021 run... for whatever that is worth and hopefully not just a price increase. Also, sometimes options are added in next model year as standard or packaged together for better price point. This happened with my 2021 Macan GTS. So, I decided it was worth adding a couple more months to the wait for my Spyder.

Thanks to everyone's advice on the forum I got on more than one list when I got serious about a GT4. That paid off today as the other dealer list I was on got an allocation for a June GT4 build. Now I have to narrow down the three different builds I have into a final one.

Hi all!
My first post, so please forgive any rules I may be breaking here...
But I just got an allocation for a new BGTS through a local dealer here in Orlando, and during this process, I had been corresponding with the dealer in Melbourne, FL. The SA told me today at 11:32 AM EST that he (and I quote), "just got allocated an extra GT4, and as of right now, it is still available."
I'm not in the market for a GT4, so if any of you want to reach out to him, look up the contact info for the Porsche of Melbourne (FL) and see if they still have it...
Thought I would pass along the possible good news.
Good luck and happy hunting!

A Premium dealer site sponsor who won't divulge their location other than saying they're US based. But yet comes on here talking about allocations they (will) have.

Totally agree that the line could move faster than expected with folks on multiple lists, fishing for an allocation they back out of, etc. It could be unique to the Seattle area, but some of our biggest Porsche dealers aren't very proactive. Lots of people with money and the dealers have fallen into the trap of thinking that we are lucky to be buying the cars. They don't hustle to make it happen so I had to do the hustling to ensure it did.

Ben@bpmotorcars.com was my broker and he was great to work with. If there are allocations to be had,
he can help you get own. You can accomplish a similar thing by dialing dealers nationwide but while I was busy doing that, I had Ben helping me and he found things much faster with his network.
Trading in state or out of state is really the same experience, the only thing to factor in is the transport. Dealers don’t seem to have an issue valuing the trade remote. It should all be easy for an in inventory car but is harder for a custom order. In WA state, in order to get the sales tax trade in credit, the trade in and the sale must be done in the same sales transaction. For that to happen, the dealer has to have a car to sell or at least a VIN that has been transferred to them for sale. I feel very lucky that Ben helped me find three critical things:
1 - an available Spyder allocation
2 - a dealer that really valued my trade. I wanted top dollar for a mint car with some rare options and wasn’t going to take wholesale prices.
3 - a dealer willing to give me a trade price commitment now for a deal they couldn’t do for a few months. I promised not to drive the car and they will take delivery of it when they have a VIN issued they can sell to me.
Oklahoma City Porsche checked all three boxes and even went as far as contacting WA State tax folks on how to ensure the tax credit.
One more tip. Dealers can also do pass through deals to other dealers or even private sellers. They take the trade and sell it to the new buyer at whatever price you and the buyer have agreed to. Some won’t do it and most will charge a fee to cover their costs but it can be a good way to get a private party sale price and a dealer trade in credit.
