Today i tested a setup i've been thinking about for a while now.
Late offset 7" phone dials on the fronts and early offset 7" phone dials on the rears.

Pulled the fender today so i can repair some bad body work. The filler was cracking and pulling up. Going to hammer and dolly some of the damage out and then fill and paint the fender. If this works out well, painting some of the other flaws on the car as well.

Today I stripped out most of the remaining carpet padding and sound damper material. I discovered some surface rust starting under the tar board in the rear footwells, so I wire brushed it and hit it with rust converter. No real damage, but it could have gotten nasty. Glad I pulled up the carpets!

I also repaired a hole in the floorboard that appears to have been caused by a PO rallying the car:

I hammered the edges of the puncture back roughly into their original position welded it up, and hit with rust converter and some white spray paint that is a rough match to the rest of the interior:

All better now. I wonder what the hell the PO did to cause that damage!

Default Continued the disassembly

I began the disassembly of my 924S a little while ago and this week, I pulled the torsion bar carrier & torque tube. Next, the interior comes out and all of the trim pieces

came out from a friend's house, rear left tire was flat. pumped it up, and could hear the leak. went home, grabbed my spare turbo twist wheel, fully inflated. Put it on, dropped the car down, and the tire immediately pops and goes flat. ugh. pull out the factory spare, took it to a gas station pumped it up, cringed, and put it on the car. Drove home, reeeaaallllyy slowly, lol, made it. Thinking about plastidipping the factory d90s and putting them on for the winter, sounds like fun.

That's a great looking Porsche! The euro-market bumpers really suit the car much better than the big goofy US crash bumpers.

Worked on getting the clutch fork and new pin installed in my recently powdercoated bellhousing. If you ever do this, be sure the powdercoated does NOT powdercoat the inside of the rings that hold the clutch pin...Ask me how I know..LOL!

1991 S2
Finally drove it today after 3 months on jack stands.

The list is:

New parking brake shoes
New parking brake supporting plates (not salvageable)
Refurbed all of the parking brake mechanism parts (Derusted with electrolysis, re-galvanized)
Refurbed parking hand brake parts (Cleaned with electrolysis, re-galvanized, re-painted)
Refurbed all Brembo 4 piston calipers
New brake rotors, pads, wear sensors, clips
New rear brake hard lines
New front & rear brake flex lines (Larts)
Refurbed & touched up rear ABS parts & anchor points (Derusted, re-galvanized. re-painted)
New clutch master, slave, hose, and pipe.
New exhaust joint sealing ring, rear section
Refurbed or replaced exhaust & muffler hanging parts
Installed Only944 short shifter and linkage (Love the feel of it)
New front floor mats
Lots of other WYIT touch ups and fastener replacements...

But had a false start when I somehow installed one of my new brake pads the
wrong way around. WTF is that metal on metal grinding noise as I test drive !
Fixed that right away...

put 120 miles on it this weekend...holy cow does the headlight harness make things so much brighter.

4am, unlit highways, it was like turning on the sun.
