Gentlemen I need some opinions. I have an allocation for a Targa 4s for April/May build that i'm told will 99% convert to GTS once they're released to the config hopefully sometime this month. I am making this a PTS car leaning toward fashion grey right now. I'm stuck between requesting pepita inlay seats (which i'm told has a good shot at getting approved) or going two tone leather with either black/red or black/beige. Thoughts, comments, questions, smart remarks?

I am also OK with Fashion Grey on a GTS. Not sure if Red/Black would work well inside, but that could just be me, and my likes/dislikes. The Pepita inlays could be good choice as the Fashion Grey is somewhat of a heritage color. You could also go with some period Coco matching matts to make it look very 50/60 vintage. Good Luck, and have fun deciding, after all it is Your Car.

Huge mistake!
Why in the world would you pay for a super hot car like a GTS and paint it, arguably, the dullest color created by man, grey. There is no such thing as "fashion" grey. Except, maybe, for a job interview, the only thing offered by grey is anonymity. Meaning, you and your grey GTS will disappear into the sea of all the other grey cars on the road.
Ever heard of the expression "Dress to Impress?" Now's your chance! Think vivid.

I was very close to buying this one but somehow couldn't close the deal.

I just got a copy of the Jan/Feb 2017 issue of European Car. There is a drop-dead gorgeous 2015 Fashion Grey GT3 article starting on page 60. It is also called PTS Mode Grau (the German name I guess?) The car is based in Yorba Linda CA. There is a couple of other very good Porsche articles in the mag. You probably can get Europen Car online, but I am not sure. I just picked up the hard copy at a news stand today.

Details matter. Modegrau (FG) is a great color but like the cars above the black details enhance the strength of the color. Unless your Targa roll bar is black which has yet to be offered the fashion grey will likely be less successful than you envision. IMHO the Targa benefits most from historic late 60s early 70s colors that are enhanced by the silver Targa bar. Signal yellow, viper green, Irish green, Mexico blue, and gulf orange have been on the PTS list and have been done on Targas. On another note I'm not sure what you meant by a 4S converting to a GTS. There is a premium for the GTS range and each variant GTS has its own internal model code. If you want a GTS you must specify that.

Jan 9 has been floating around the various forums. The GTS is due to be released, but when remains a question. If past experience is any indicator there will be a web special along with the online configuration sometime this month.

Hi all !!
i´m in the final stage for push the order button for my 991.2 C2. One last issue that I have is that I still haven´t decided the color 100%. I always stated that I would buy the agate grey, BUT now i´m leaning towards the GT silver, (black interior). Formostely, my wife likes the silver better I quit like the silver.
So the question ; Which color will be most "sensitive" towards small scracthes and so on.... ? I my mind the agate grey will be more sensitive ...
Any thoughts ??

Well thanks for everyones input. I'm going to request the houndstooth seats. If they get approved I'll move forward with the fashion grey which in my mind is not dull and disappears. But I asked for opinions because i appreciate input. The car is actually for my step father (who was more of one than the genetic one) He grew up an hour from Zuffenhausen and it was his dream to have a targa one day. Pride's sake he won't let me give it to him but i'll "park" it at my parents house. Damn Germans and their pride. That fashion grey targa was partially my inspiration, and torque chaps blue baron thread as well. I believe modegrau is absolutely stunning myself. Classic and clean without being too showy. I had a bright orange 650s. Lasted about 30 days. That's just not my style. My GT3RS was white too. Thanks everyone. Looks like i'm buying a 911 three years in a row!
