Richard, I didn't come from a 991.2TT, it was a 997.2TT to a 991.2 Targa 4S. So not the comparison you are looking for, but I will say the 991 seemed just as fast. And I would agree with you that it is quite civilized, as has been the case with each successive generation. Not a bad thing, just a fact. One reason I recently bought a 964.
Hye, saw not so recent post and wondering if i could get your advice. I live in Australia where cars are twice your price !! - noticed you came from 991.2TT to 991.2 targa. I love the targa but have not driven it and cant because no test cars. The stock 991.2 drove really well and very accurately. I thought actually better than the 3.8 991.1 GTS which i drove (as there is one for sale for similar money here). It's hard to say - i think that the .2 feels lighter as in weight not steering and i think the steering is better (more like the hydraulic of the mid engined 987). So the question i have is.. why did you cross over to targa? why not 4S ? and also do you notice the change in handling or the weight of the car compared to your 991.2 Carrera ? I was thinking of getting an S or a basic car with PDK and going for a simpler kind of driving experience. The targas seem a little more mature and in a way more civilised. Just thoughts for now but would really appreciate your feedback.
