Then drove to the Toyota Mirai event and tested a hydrogen fuel cell powered car. Even though I would not buy this, experiencing the technology put me in geek heaven for a short while.
Nicole,
The wheel liners are new. Just put them on about three weeks ago.
I bought the GTS ones. They fit very well. Thanks Roger!
No adjustment needed beside one hole I had to enlarge a bit.
I wash everything with water and soap and then use Adam's Detail Spray.
Well it was not really today but a few days ago... Took her to my first ever car show here in my home town recently.
I was amazed at the interest in her, I did not get out of the building all day for talking about 928s!!!
Finished a two weekend effort to install Boge blacks. Took a lot longer than I expected as I had a few issues:
Struggled on the fronts with my spring compressors as there isn't much coil to grab and kept having the arms of the compresser get caught in between the coils on removal. Eventually figured out that the only way to remove the compressor was to completely unthread the rod from the lower arm.
On the rears had an adventure getting the pin in on one side (finally figured out to just jack the hub carrier out of the way while threading the pin through the control arm and shock) and getting it out on the other side (small amount of corrosion in the rear of the control arm that needed to be broken.)
Also after much swearing had to use a torch to free up the threaded collar on the rears enough to knock it off (fronts came off without issue.) I left the perch on to knock it off using a hammer and punch.
Overall a huge improvement in handling and ride quality, definitely something I should have done a long time ago.
My drivers door mirror suffered erectile dysfunction today. Looked out the window this morning...and the flag portion was drooping from its mounting bracket. Swivel portion of the mount had stripped out, noticed it was getting lose...but its repair was just put on the winter-to-do list. Unfortunately, it didn't make it. Luckily, I had another black mirror housing off my disassembly car...so switching it out was easy on the wallet.
Key things I found out.
While removing the glass/mirror, first pull the glass/mirror out of the outer rubber trim piece as far as you can (without breaking and while the mirror housing is still attached to the door) and then with needle nose pliers, gently squeeze the end of the mirrors' metal mounting tabs behind the plastic tab guide/holders in the metal backing plate...and push it through. If you try to pry them out from right behind the glass...you risk breaking the mirror or breaking off the tabs from the mirror.
