Larry, nicely explained

Once again, Porsche added the PDCC to the shock button so people actually knew they had the option. Early 991.1's with PDCC didn't have the printed button. After all, you pay that $$$$, you want something to show off at Cars & Coffee.

The button functions the same in cars with/without PDCC. Of course PDCC does get more aggressive in the Sport/Sport + modes.

FYI: the 991.1 was the first 911 to ever have PDCC as an option. I've never driven a car with it, but have only read positive things by guys who have it as an option.

PDCC can even be optioned on Cabs and Targas.

(never mind... I see STG posted up a more complete answer)

Speaking of which, anybody own a PDCC car? I haven't driven one and it seems to get very mixed reviews. I think I would prefer no PDCC, but haven't decided if it's a deal breaker.
I have PDCC and love it! Keeps the car very flat in cornering. Very nice ride, too!

You cannot turn PDCC off. You can turn the chassis to sport or normal, though. In sport, it does make for a rougher ride on bumpy roads. PDCC is always on, though, if so equipped.

We've been through this before. A refresher lesson:

On base model 991.1's, PASM is an option. 10mm lower than base model height. Sport PASM (SPASM) can also be optioned on a base 991.1. That drops it an additional 10mm. So 20mm lower than a non PASM base model

Now ... On base model 991.2's, PASM is now a standard included option.

Now .... On S/4S/GTS/Targa models, PASM is a standard included option. Sport PASM (SPASM) is an option on coupes only. That drops it 10mm lower.

PDCC cannot be turned on and off - it is always on, if so equipped. You can adjust the suspension settings (sport/normal), with the button but PDCC is always on.

Nice explanation of PDCC. Thanks.

So, as a newbie, what is the button with the A above "off" w/the arrow circling it?

That's Auto Start/Stop. A fuel saving/emissions measure.

http://www.porsche.com/usa/models/pa...art-stop-plus/

The link above is for the Panamera, but the *** system (nice acronym, Porsche ) functions the same across the model line.

Portland, Oregon:

Here is a 2013 991 C4S in Black with

PASM
Sport Exhaust
Sport Chrono
Sunroof
Prem Package Plus
Sport Wheel
PDK

Listed at $78.5k with 16,000 miles.

Seems like a good private party deal to be had:

Excellent, thanks for the info! My folks had that in a Mercedes AMG car they had. Was always weird for the engine to stop running at a light the first few times I drove if I hadn't in awhile.

This thread has punched a whole bunch of holes into my 991 enthusiasm. PDCC can't be turned off or controlled separately from dampener rate? Why do they think they know better how I like to drive my car than I do? Aren't there enough computers randomly pulling on my car already?

I love active anti-roll systems on every BMW I drove that had it. IMHO they are the way to go to make active suspensions bearable.

Also never realized that SPASM is and was coupe only.

Sorry. Back to schedule. Sorry. /curse /mumble

Price opinion wanted...

2012.5 Carrera Cab
  • PDK
  • Sport Chrono
  • Bose
  • Sport Design wheel
  • $111K sticker
  • 28K miles
  • Super clean, two owner, clean carfax.
  • Not an S
  • No warranty or CPO
  • No PSE or full leather
I really want a Coupe, Manual, S, PSE, SC, SPASM, Full Leather so I don't know why I'm even seriously considering this one other than it's local and a nice color combo.

What do you think is a HOT HOT HOT offer price on this car to make me consider something different than my evidently unicorn target car?

Nice find Make some offers guys.

I'm swamped with work next couple weeks. Will be popping in, but no time for research for sure.

End of summer should bring along some new inventory. Guys that don't plan on keeping cars try and get rid of them before winter.

From all I've heard, things are pretty quiet at the dealers. Should see some easing up in prices hopefully.

Interestingly this one is the *identical* build and sticker price the KIA dealer 2012 991 I was looking at in Florida, though the Kia 991 was Basalt over Platinum Gray. Kia car had a few cosmetic issues and a few more miles (15K), but ended up selling for $63.5K.

The Rhodium looks way better than Basalt IMHO... If the other car was Platinum or Agate, I think I would have pulled the trigger and dealt with the door panel replacement the Kia car needed.
