Yes that was Doug. We are quite evenly matched in the 964s so have to take corners well to keep the distance. He went off that corner at Teretonga and I did the same at a similar corner at Highlands Park.

We had perfect weather at Teretonga and it seemed well organised. I'd go back.

Highlands had built up expectations that possibly it was never going to meet. The fact that the track hire was more than the other three tracks combined certainly put it on a pedestal.

To put it bluntly it wasn't the highlight for me. There were parts of the track that i liked but the whole track was so big it took a while to circulate to revisit them. Some of the track design was also bizarre e.g. Huge areas of run off and kitty litter next to slower corners but concrete wall and no runoff next to fast sections such as the sweeper.

It didn't help that Teretonga was more organised and had more accessible amenities. I'd go back to watch racers at a full meet but that's it.

Similar thoughts to John on this. Preferred Teretonga as a track. Had better flow. Also expectations too high for Highlands...

Jake, great having your GoPro. I have stacks of footage. Yesterday I did a front/back combo. The big task will be collating, editing and publishing it. It took two hours to upload the Highlands video above.

I liked Highlands a lot. Large complicated track with lots of variety and challenge. Amazingly good surfaces although no camber except one nice corner. Would prefer kitty litter before the concrete walls. This track would take a lot of driving before you nailed it and maxed your times.

My normally eagle eye would have spotted that one and recorded its sales history, but I must have missed it. Whatever, 6 months ago $40k wasn't on for that car.

A couple of weeks ago when it sold for +/- $32K and now is advertised for $40K. So I suspect its not on now either

Based on the listings I'd prefer the targa at $28k. Same mileage, NZ new and at that price you could afford some work to be done. Still get a compression/leakdown done though plus all the usual PPI checks.

Personally I like the targa shape in the 964 but it depends what you're looking for. A few more seals to keep in good nick. Looks good in black.
