Today's distance was 574km, including the track time at Teretonga. Total distance is now 4,081km. Without AIRCON.

Only drama of the day was Macca's 993 giving Paul's one a light kiss at the service station.

Drive to Teretonga was mostly in the the dark. A long day. Here are some pics.

I'm a Kiwi living in Hong Kong who hasn't seen blue sky (or the sun) in nearly 2 months and these photos are amazing.
Many thanks for posting. Makes me very homesick.

You are welcome. I spent a fair few years as an expat, the last tour was Jakarta for four years. I am truly stunned by the drives and scenery on my back door. As for the Sun, we all saw too much of it yesterday.

Michael. Awesome day at the track. For me like at Manfield it really started to click in the last two sessions with times tumbling and consistent. I would have loved a 7th session and I was just getting zoned in. Lack of track experience means it takes me a bit longer than the others. Traces are below. Theroretical best at 1.10.94 and actual best at 1.11.19 but there was definitely a sub 1.11 if Id only had a few more laps as the lines were coming together well and was slowly ironing out the problem corners. Car ran really well. Weather was perfect. Track was characterful like Manfiled but with slightly quicker straight. No one had any break down or offs but plenty of worn pads and tyres. Great day!

I know John will post AIM traces, I use Vlogic PB so have a different dashboard. here it is.

Great stuff. I bet Paul was doing his damnest to keep up, while driving at no more than 7/10ths of course.

Any changes in L-plate ownership? What's the plan for today?

Paul left early to head to Bluff with John & Doug. When he left after session 4 his best AIM was 12.68. We had some great drives together. I should think with two more sessions he would have been similar times to me. My final session I started in front which gave me clear lap times. As a newbie I struggle with traffic a bit.

Chirs B was the fastest at 1.09.?? with Steve in his Carrera 997S at 1.10.93. Im not Sure on Matt Gs final time but it was 1.11.?? and after that was Caymans and 964s.

Good day for all and no breakage. Hope same holds true for tomorrow....

Teratonga track day including 62 images of some well used close up pcar parts.

Promise we'll try to get some track action shots tomorrow.

Jake, you are welcome to take mine for a drive, not sure what note you are after, but the FVD sure makes plenty of noise when the turbos wind up

NZskater - if we can get some friendly pricing, you may want to do it earlier. A quick look on the 997 forums shows that the Turbo, GT2 and all GT3 models also suffer from this. I'd been leaving my fix for a major service too but with 2 fittings blowing in roughly 2 years/20,000 kms, I'm bringing it forward if possible.
3 of mine have been done and the rest will get done by Steve and Dan at Europacific when the car comes back from the South Island tour and before the May Targa Tour. It will be done as part of a major service where the engine will be dropped with coils and plugs replaced, remaining fittings pinned, silicon pipes, etc
