Yep - they are great. First thing about the car I noticed once I got into it. They hold you in place really well and the memory nice to have.

Anyway she's on the transporter now and heading down ahead of the storm. Lets hope everyone is OK this weekend.

 

Four hours until Doug and I set off. Looks like it will be following us to Taupo.

 

GT3 has landed. In compliance centre. Looks like they got it through so fast they missed the boarder check so delay will be in getting the boarder guys over to tick a box on a form! Battery seems fine, started up first time, 6 point harness looks great (hadn't seen them fitted). Looks like boarder inspector wont get to see it until Monday so not holding any real hopes...forgot how gorgeous it looks in white even when dirty (real life not the pictures so much).

Are you guys still coming down to Hawkes Bay? If so there has been a lot of road works on the Taupo planes.

Pete. They cant guarantee compliance Monday. We leave Sunday morning come hell or high water (I suspect a bit of both LOL!).

You'll be glad your GT3 is here Macca, bit tough having it arrive just in time to leave it behind though. Hopefully by the time you're back there'll be concrete (and good) news re the ongoing worries and you can drive it without worrying or more waiting.

Just picked up my car from Rob at CCS, all ready to go. Five of six fittings pinned, one was inaccessible without finding a tool that'll fit the gap -- frustrating because you can see it but not get enough access to pin it. Should be able to get at it without dropping the engine fully, will just need to lower it slightly to allow access. All maintenance done, and 997 GT3 throttle body upgrade in. M&M headers didn't make it as Rob was worried it could turn into a multi-day job if there were issues with rusted bolts and studs, so that'll have to go on first thing when I get back.

 

I guess he's pretty confident about the weather!

Lawns are done, everything that can be is tied down and the dog will probably sleep upstairs tonight. Its about to get interesting!

Pete and Macca you guys must be stoked having your beloved beasts arrived in the country and being able to eyeball them. The compliance centre looks like a good spot for a gritty photoshoot. Imagine a wide shot at night with your white GT3 in there with the roof detail. brilliant.
