This stuff is just enough and when you need more than 1.16-1.17 go but a 996 gt3 and join Matt and Nigel a couple of seconds up the ladder
I was actually quite surprised at how quick the 993 was. Adjusting my times at Puke, the car should have been doing 1.22's at HD, so I guess I need to learn Puke a lot better.

If the timing was slightly better, after last night, I would have been seriously tempted to buy the stolen and recovered manual 993 for circa $35K and convert into a spec very similar to Sean's 964 RS.

Budget will dictate 944 S2, heart want's a targa spec 996 GT3.

Err - you might be right but it doesn't hurt to misinterpret a bit. I would argue it's not possible to drive 10/10th's if the car is not set up or on road tires, you are forced to back off if the car is not track focused. .
Exactly the same gears I use. In the 964 third is perfect for turns 2&3 and the Sweeper. You can hear the engine note in my PB video in Turn 3, it keeps on the torque curve without risking a spin.

Just for the record, I judge 10ths by the driver effort/attitude not the car's capability. If you intend to short shift etc, then it's not 10/10ths. I've yet to see you do any driving at other than 10/10ths.

Its good to hear you are happier with it now than you were a week ago. I suspect after the round of modifications this week it will only continue to impress.

There's no way you could get that auctioned 993 to Seans spec for 35K and you know it ;-). Heck at that mileage and providence a full engine rebuild is a given if it were to be taken on the track. That's 20K while you are in there...

Im not sure a 944 race car will be that much quicker once you settle into the 993 with the new gear in it. Maybe a second at HD. The 996 GT3 is the next logical step if its to remain street/targa useable...

I agree with John. Ive never seen you drive any less than ***** to the wall regardless of how the car is set up LOL!

Alternatively I'll wait until I replace my current tyres with a new set of MPSS, but that is a way off.
I haven't dealt with TPMS sensors personally (my last car that had pressure sensors used the tyre circumference calculated from the ABS sensors), but the guys at Tyre Plus Newmarket are good and regularly deal with high end cars. CCS have also got a tyre service, so I'm sure they'd be well set up to deal with it also.

Just had a look at the AIM data and found out I must've let off slightly on my best lap, looks like I'm not far away from a 1:13.5 now... something to work on for next time.

Top speed is about 2km/h up on my last outing there, possibly due to the weight savings from the exhaust and battery and the tiny power bump from the exhaust.... who knows.

Matt. That's awesome. Im really not sure how you could go faster than 1.13.5 without upgrading to a cup car! Thinking about it a stock 997.1 GT3 would not be as quick as your car (you have almost 400 bhp anyhow and better brakes and suspension). I think Ill give you the keys to put in a reference lap for my GT3 when it debuts at HD!

As requested by Paul. A photo of my RS2:

Took it just after I washed it this morning. Am I the only one that must have a clean car before a road trip? (off to Bruce Springsteen tonight).

For those of you that dont know what an RS2 is how many Porsche parts can you spot?

LOL!
I was suggesting the purchase price of $35K. The car development would be slow, but end up costing $100K.

That's interesting - in the 944 its still 3rd around both those sections but need a burst in 4th prior due to hitting the limiter and then a change down to 3rd for the corners. Also hit the limiter on the main straight in 4th but not worth hitting 5th for such a short burst. Pre turns 2 and the sweeper I'm on the limiter too far ahead of the corner not to change.

Well from my experience so far - low 18's easy, mid 17's when pushing. Probably capable of a high 16 with a bit more experience and a fraction more with some residual lightening.

If Paul is hitting 18's on crap suspension (Tommy Tippee!) then there won't be much in it if anything once that's sorted. So depends if lap times are the goal or he want's to go racing... If the latter then its a far cheaper package to 'give it a go.' Not cheap by 2k cup standards but still a lot cheaper than running say an RS replica spec.

Paul, I'm interested in seeing the AIM trace to see where you pick up the time, considering Vmax is similar to Herman. Although the best way to do that is send me a data file and I'm not sure how to do that.
