The 993 is cannon fodder.........the suspension setup is crap and it takes more than 221's to solve this.

I have a few boxes in the garage that need parts installing. I think the PSS10's are in one, and the sways in another.

I might have to cheat and pull out the old girl (black beauty) and show you ABS, electrical stuff newbies how it's done.........

Paul. You haven't had time to have the PSS10 fitted yet I take it? I assume you are still planning this for SITT?

Cant wait to see your car lowered John. After teasing you about if for 12 months its finally happening! Did they sort out that top strut bolt or are you running a full set of Dougs old shocks?

Rear bumper has damage/scratch. Front and rear discs need replacing. Needs interior carpet and frunk carpet and appears to be in need of some real TLC.

At the minimum I would suggest brakes, suspension and paint need sorting ...

Thems my thoughts...
Macca, if I ever think I will buy another Porsche I am just going to send you the photos, great analysis..

Neither can I. Precise instructions weren't asked for or given so I have to rely on Peter to bring it on home. He certainly did with the track set up.

The road tyres were chosen specifically to have the same profile as the Z221s so I should have a similar set up on road and track. Right now the set up is with a pair of Razzas Bilsteims.

I get the car back tomorrow night. Maybe time for a quick photo with road tyres, then on go the frankenstein d90s and Z221s.

I want the RUF rebuilt so I have 4 matching shocks. Need to see exactly what broke. Not decided on the type of coilover so won't do anything in a rush.

Biggest pain right now is that I have new tyres and bushes on the Turbo 3.6 but can't drive it until I fix the shocks on that.

Great plan. You know you can probably have the old shocks in the 964T rebuilt with new inserts. There was a crowd near Wellington doing this - very well respected did shocks for a lot of race cars -Im pretty sure they used a koni insert and could valve then however you wanted as well as following factory 964T specs. Jamie had some lovely ones done for his 993 using the factory shock body. Nice solution as better quality than factory with more adjust ability (if you need it) but still fit and same stance as factory for same or less money. Graeme will know the outfit (North of wellington maybe up towards Kapiti coast)...

Yes - they only turned up on the back step today when I got home from a meeting.

Will be installed on Thursday onwards.

I wonder if there is a chance to do a another HD day before SITT. Would be interesting to see time difference with suspension sorted??

The goal is to make the car look like this.

Red calipers will have to weight a little while longer.......

I use Macbilt Engineering for my race car stuff. They are in Grenada North on the Eastern side of the motorway. But my shock rebuilds are sent to Auckland funny enough to Anthony Hewitt. he has all the gear-shock dyno etc. Since I was modifying an MCA shock I got Murray Coote to send the parts over to Anthony to assemble to save cost of sending heavy shock units to Australia.

Nice pics Macca sliding out of junction
