Yes, it is a heavy beast with a few Hp to get it moving. Just about to to tick over to 160,000 km so the transmission mount is probably the first of many thing of many that will need work. The C4 is ready for action on the 31st.

Once you start playing none of it is cheap and there's no way around it. There are often issues in install that require further spending to rectify. Right now that's where Im at with the 993 which has refused to cooperate with just about every upgrade this time around necessitating alot of extra work. Labour bill running 30 hrs already......!
Thats said. Engine mounds should take less than 45 mins and are a DIT (as per David). John, you could DIY these...

Dave told me how he did the mounts. I will need a new hydraulic jack to do it if I have to lift at the engine. I'm still lusting after some ESCO axle stands. I bought some mounts to make the existing ones more secure, but I'd like a truly flat area to place them on.
As for the need for mounts, it is the last link. The gear shift bushings tightened up that part.

John. Unfortunately both. Luckily I get very well looked after. Since 2010 I have 320 CCS hours in that car.....
The mounts are a good idea. The A Arms are a must. The springs would make a huge difference to lower centre of gravity. Tie rods can be pinned if there is play in them. I highly recommend replacing the roll bar bushes and any siezed drop links.

I've got the massive piece of pipe to crack those big nuts if you need that. Also the deep reach 19mm socket and my jack too since I'm just down the road. Give me a yell and I'll supervise....I swore I'd given up laying under cars years ago.

Don't look as fancy as the wevo's or RSS.

I've also got the Harry's lap timer and have been looking at how it works best. With an add on 5-20 ghz GPS unit it makes real sense with accuracy, that combined With the fact it records HD video from the iPhone with overlay makes it good bang for buck.
I will look at getting an add on GPS unit such as the dual xgps 150 and the ram mount to record video with added stability. The way it can overlay speed and times straight onto the video is brilliant. The only thing is the first few plays with it didn't work, figured its best to leave the app to find the start/stop line at hamptons by itself.
